Stop being "sorry" about being emotional and crying about Doctor Who's tender/romantic moments. WE ALL DO. The brilliance of this show is that it gets into us, and speaks to some very real, very human truths.

Tony Curran's performance as Vincent is exemplary, possibly one of the most grounded character portrayals in the shows entire run. The combination of writing, performances, music and direction in this episode made this an instant classic. Don't worry about blubbing, this episode always ends with my face all wet too. A great, genuine reaction. Thank you.

I think anyone who has depression, myself included couldn't imagine having such powerful words that validate our existence. It's so easy to get lost and feel so detached. To feel no worth and to wonder if anyone actually notices our existence. I feel sometimes I may as well be schrodingers cat because nobody opens that box to check if I am here or if I am not. This episode gives me hope that one day I will be recognised for who I am. I've not long discovered you but I've now watched quite a lot of your Who reactions. I think your fantastic xx

This episode gets me every time. Especially that ending. Doctor Who is sprinkled with precious nuggets of dialogue that seem to map onto one's own life. It's so good at doing that. This episode was written by Richard Curtis, btw. If you don't know who that is, he wrote Four Weddings and a Funeral, Bridget Jones's Diary, Notting Hill, and Love Actually, as well as one of the best british comedy shows of all time, Blackadder.

The monster in this episode is often dismissed as tacky or irrelevant, but people tend to miss it's actually a metaphor for depression. Something which is invsisble to external observers but can be detected by the way it affects your actions, which always stalks and torments you but never defines you, against which even the best doctors and help can only go so far and which ultimately can only be dealt with by yourself-once you face up to it and recognise the issue, with support from the right people. This episode is so so deep and emotional on so many levels!!

Smacked that nail on the head. But, as with most things, people who are suffering from depression are not understood for their reactions to issues, as much as the actions that are seen out of context.

I think why this is such an emotional episode is because Vincent did really suffer in this way and it's something that is so relatable. The emotion doesn't feel forced or his situation manipulated for the sake of the show, it's done very well. Beautifully told, beautifully shot, all around it hits all the right marks. Especially for those of us who like inspirational/depressing episodes

I always love how genuine you are and this reaction got me shedding quite a few tears. For me personally, I see the creature as representing depression. It's called 'The hidden/invisible illness' and it's a very personal battle, which is why Vincent was the only one who could see it and fight it. Other people can come alongside you while you're going through it and human connection is really important, but they can't fight it for you. I think it was also important to show that, because it's a disease, experiencing happier moments isn't a cure for depression, so the outcome for Vincent was the same. I hope you are ok after this. Your reaction to this was beautiful, powerful and meaningful. Thank you.

I have watched this episode more times than I can count, or even just the last scene, and I cry EVERY SINGLE TIME! Just the song played during that scene makes me tear up heavily. Even if I watch it more than once in the same day! I have the same reaction watching YOU react to it! People ask me to describe Doctor Who, I tell them to watch "Vincent & The Doctor." Because it's about aliens (check) and time travel (double check) but it's also about the wonder and joy all around us, all the fascinating and beautiful things if we just open the right "eyes" inside ourselves, it's about discovering wonderful surprises happening, and how sometimes those surprises don't end as happily as they began, but that doesn't lessen how wonderful they are. It's about making a difference in the world, the universe, around you. And sadly, it's also about how some things are out of our power to change, but that doesn't mean we can't still try. And when we fail, it's about not letting those failures back, but learning from them. To me, "Vincent & The Doctor" just sums that up so nicely, and while 10 is MY Doctor, to me, 11 portrayed THE Doctor the best. Centuries old yet young, full of childlike wonder but wise, aware of loss and love and how they go together, and not letting it slow him down from his journey of discovery. And I quite honestly don't think any of the other New Who Doctors could have played this episode as well as Matt, not due to any lack of acting ability, but because Matt's very nature feel so present in this episode. He gives of this vibe of TRULY understanding what Vincent is going through. And I have yet to find another actor who plays someone so innocent and ancient at the same time. And I write this in 2019. Again, this is the episode I recommend non-Whovian people watch, to give them an idea what Doctor Who is all about. I know most people recommend "Blink," but that is second on my list for introducing them to the show, because while it is extremely exciting and scary, it's Doctor-lite. And yes, the alien in "Vincent" is questionable, but when you realize what the alien represents, Depression, which EVERYONE has to deal with in life, in themselves or others, it's SO meaningful.

I am happy to see you emote... crying, laughing, anger and all of it! I like that you are moved by events!

Synesthesia is a real thing - it is when a person's senses are cross wired in the brain causing some people to hear colours, smell sounds, feel tastes and such. l saw a doc about it that had an interviewed with a couple (English) that when they walk down their beach the boat sheds of different colours caused them to hear a tune & a woman actually saw the words of what she was hearing to scroll around her head with each letter having its own colour. This is one medical condition l wish l had as it would make learning so much easier as you would have twin input to remember. However having in vincent's time would have been a nightmare as people would have considered you inane or possessed & locked you up.

Every single time I hear Chances start in this episode, the waterworks start. I just weep and weep. And I wept just watching your reaction.

Jess, as many others have said, we don't *enjoy* watching you cry - I think it's that it gives us permission to emote. I've been binging your DW (and Broadchurch) reaction videos the last few days and what I love about them is your emoting has allowed me to emote myself. As others have said - we cry with you. And I've needed that. So thank you.

If you're here expecting to keep your eyes dry, you've come to the wrong episode. Just thinking about this one for very long will make me have to wipe an eye. And I love it for all that it is. Vincent's problems went deeper than just being unappreciated as an artist or even, in many cases, a person. That's the real monster of the episode. It's a tragic and beautiful story, and all I can really think to say is: Awww, Jess.

Back when you were just starting out on your Dr. Who journey, and you seemed so leery about it, would you have ever thought you would find this show so moving?Loving watching your whovian journey.

What I truly love about this episode is when it aired and I believe on the Blu-ray/DVD, at some point at the credits _(pre-End Credits, somewhere inside, or immediately after)_ they had information about Mental Health issues and how to get help/treatment if needed. As someone whose “Dr. Better-Half” _(the name I refer to her as Online, because her job’s rules of ethics doesn’t allow her to have a Social Media presence... and to celebrate on the immense work she did in getting her Doctorate! 😊)_ works in the field *hands-on* with People that need direct, immediate help, I was extremely glad to see that in an episode dealing with a Real Life historical figure who dealt with those issues. 👍🏼

you didn't think it was just a tiny bit disrespectful, to use a real man, who obviously had real problems, and really killed himself? I had a little bit of a problem with using a real guy....although, when it played out as it actually did, I was a little bit relieved, because I was worried it was going to turn out that they fixed his life, but they wrecked his career, and he didn't continue to paint, that they returned to the museum, and that wing was going to be dedicated to someone else, and I was thinking that's that's wrong, you can't do that, it's dishonoring his struggle, so at least they made it right at the end, I just still think it was a little bit unfortunate to use a real person, but that's just my opinion, and I do think it was a poignant episode

Amazing reaction, showing why your channel is as great as it is. It's like reliving watching these episodes for the first time. You're far from alone in the shows you like hitting home, that's why they're great. I don't think people enjoy watching you cry, they enjoy appreciating the shows through new eyes. It'd take a hard person not have felt some of what you did here watching this episode for the first time. I am such a fan.
