The man who inspired the young generation of chefs that nowadays we call best. And in his turn, was inspired by living legends. Chapeau bas !

Cuisine is not just about cooking, it is an art as well. Food ought to fill people's stomach and give them artistic pleasure at the same time. That's what this guy is trying to make people understand. I like this idea and the dishes shown in this video no doubt all have an aesthetic appeal. I wonder how the food actually tastes.

My wife and I ate there in 1992, though it was at a different location. It is still one of the highlights of my life. I would go back in a heartbeat. There's nothing like the experience of dining in a restaurant like Guy Savoy. Back then the classifications were different, though I can't explain why, and they were rated a 5-star restaurant. We also went to another 5-star restaurant on that trip (I can't remember the name) on the Place de la Concorde - it was not the same experience and though the food was excellent - just not the same. If you can appreciate all of the subtleties he expressed, and take your time to taste everything, it's a worthwhile and memorable experience.

A lot of it comes down to your relationship with food - some people eat purely to survive - if you are one of these people you are unlikely to appreciate the effort that has gone into making these dishes/works of art or the actual taste of the dishes - but I would love to be there to see someone's face when they eat their first dish at Monsieur Savoy's restaurants and understands ... :) However if you're someone who can appreciate the amount of effort, dedication and sheer obsessiveness to detail into making these dishes (not to mention the taste - oh the taste!) then you're in for a heavenly and majestic experience - I've been around 5+ times - and I hope to go many more times before I shuffle off this mortal coil. My first visit to Monsieur Guy Savoy's restaurant fundamentally changed my view about food - it would go so far as to say it changed my viewpoint about life - you could compare it to a religious event (I kid you not). If you ever have the opportunity to visit, and this description resonates with you, I would urge you to visit - at the very least it will give you a happy memory that you can go back to at any point in the future. I can not recommend Monsieur Guy Savoy's restaurant strongly enough - for me it was a life changing experience that I will carry with me for the rest of my life - absolutely amazing. You may think you're good at what you do in life ... then you come across someone like Monsieur Guy Savoy .... and your perception .... changes ... when you see what is actually possible by someone who is a master at what he does :)
