Don Johnson is the MAN! I grew up watching Miami Vice and was hooked right away! The entire cast is awesome, music in the show rocks your soul, plenty of action and the gun shoot outs with Calderone were brilliant! Jan Hamner is king to bringtje music. His synthesise machines put that special sound thT no other show had or has now! He and Philip Michael Thomas and James Olmos , Jimmy Smitts, and tbe cast made the show a masterpiece! Even today in 2024 ; I jam out to Miami Vice on KZitem. The cars and clothes are a stroke of genius in setting the storyline. It always grips you and leaves you hanging on the edge of your seat! Few if any tv shows today; hRdlu get near anything like Miami Vice or Nash Bridges! The 80 ' s tv show like Starsky and and Hutch, and others are a special breed! Many thanks to Don and all his crew! That's why he got skilled on motor sports, to the point of being able to win some prizes. When you see Crockett driving his car or his rapid boat, you can tell Don Johnson was an skilled pilot and that he enjoyed it. However, this video is a very nice and complete work.

@@FactsVerse I first noticed gorgeous Don Johnson in The Long Hot Summer....a role that was made for him and ,thankfully , I managed to purchase a copy. After that it had to be his Rolè as Sonny Crockett. What a performer he is. He and Philip Michael Thomas were both incredible in the parts they played . They were believable. Two young guys given their parts that they acted with reality included . They really did make us believe in everything they did . Don's ability to play the part of Sonny who was often an emotional cop and one who could be a bit of a loose cannon was incredible. I think this has far surprassed the description of a " cop series " . It now has cult status . Thankfully I managed to purchase every episode and I never tire of them . He gave the m advice and also a couple of phone numbers to call of people in Hollywood in the Industry. Also, my sister had a boyfriend that used to work for the phone company. I did not have in any way a fallout with Don. We met through a very good friend of ours over a business project I had developed and was looking to raise capital. He loved my project, but it was too big a stretch from his film projects. My company involved Medical Devices, which were way outside his wheelhouse. But he loved what I was doing and wanted to help me. Your piece on him was great. By the way, I have first-hand knowledge of the incident in Switzerland, not Germany, and the amount was also inaccurate. But by and large, your piece was excellent and brought back many fond memories. Ted

I've always liked Don Johnson, and am sorry to hear that he's had some problems, but don't we all? As a corporate pilot, I flew Mr. Johnson, and his family, on several occasions before they split, and always found them to be very courteous passengers. Melanie was especially bubbly and outgoing. Post split, I flew just Don several times, and had the opportunity to chat with him while waiting for other pax. Some may not know that he was a pilot himself, and piloted his own jet AND helicopter. Some celebrities can be total a** wipes, but Mr. Johnson was a great passenger, and very down to earth to chat with. I wish him well.

Don is the coolest guy. He suffered up and down from the evil of too much money, just like so many Hollywood celebrities. He still looked good and had a stable financial and family life..

You forgot to mention he was also a singer. Had a couple of albums, I believe. Also, he was married twice to Melanie. And yes, I do have a life despite thinking Don is still one of the best looking, versatile actors who has done well in almost every aspect of his career. He’s golden.

Nice recall, check this out: in the 80's I was a bouncer at the Hollywood Palace on Vine. I'm saying 1985, as live shows were the Temptations, Red Hot Chili Peppers, the Divinyls, Till Tuesday, Kid Creole & the Coconuts, Nick Lowe, Todd Rundgren, Teena Marie....and....Don Johnson, I still remember the song, "heartbeat", very good pop song.

Miami Vice changed television and American culture. That's how powerful it was with the iconic music and introduction of new actors and actresses. The show also had the coolest cast of characters.

One of the accolades that you forgot to mention, was his short-lived singing career. He did chart with a song called Heartbeat. I believe that was 1986. He put out 2 albums that I know of for sure. I thought it was a pretty good album. It was a mix of ballads and 80s pop. And for the time it was no worse than anything else out there on the radio. I have that album on vinyl and would love to get him to sign it. He also started another TV series that turned out to be a flop. I believe the name of it was called blood and oil. He played a JR Ewing type of fellow who owns an oil company. it was OK. It lasted one season and then was gone.

Heartbeat was featured is the game Grand Theft Auto - Liberty City Stories (and I remember it on the radio back in the day.) More recently he was excellent in HBO's The Watchmen. This "lost all his money" bs clickbate (that was also done recently with Sly Stallone) is why I just unsubscribed from this channel.

@@lindacollins903 they were supposed to have a five-year progression plan on that show. So basically they rushed through whatever they were going to do in one year. It should’ve lasted longer. I think it’s problem was it started off pretty slow and never really caught on like it should have. I never missed an episode. I really like the girl who on the bar who I believe is supposed to be his ex girlfriend or something. I don’t remember it’s been a while lol.

I'm 68 now and remember Miami Vice well. At 29 I enlisted and made a career of the military, so I lost touch with sitting in front of the TV. As for the wildlife, I can understand how he would find that attractive. I did as well. Out of my 20 years in the military, I spent nine of them in South Korea, where my dollar went much further at that time. Drinking most nights was not uncommon for me. I also grew up poor and being comparatively rich in SK was great. Unlike Don, I found it easy to avoid marriage. I lacked the hair and height. So, watching Miami Vice was a joy for me. I hope nothing but the best for a poor boy that grew up to have such an outstanding life acting. To answer that question about the lifestyle, "yes" it can damage a person that lacks the experience and education to handle money, but the memories are all one has, when the inevitable end of life arrives. I have some great memories and I'm sure Johnson does as well. I have known those who never stepped outside their bubble, and I'm glad I'm not one of them. I'm delighted that Johnson has gotten his shite together again. I own a 1987 Buick Grand National. It's original down to the cassette player in the dash. When I take it out, I have a cassette tape of Miami Vice that I play. 😊
