Growing up, I was a huge Valentine mark, but his desire to sound important and knowledgeable is like fingernails on a chalkboard. I can't imagine the torture of sitting next to him on a 5 hour flight. I would love to hear his full story, but I couldn't stand listening to him telling it. More of Don would be great.

For someone like valentine, having watched so many of his interviews, and Don as well, you have to ask good specific questions. Some of these guys require that assistance and direction to get the most out of their views and thoughts.
@Uuusssaaas

@@BigBadJerryRogers Good point. Less open-ended questions would likely make Valentine more palatable. I usually prefer more open-ended questions for a more wide ranging interview. You get better stories. Sometimes it is necessary to reign people in. I think you may be right with Valentine. Regardless, I have no interest in listening to this entire interview. It's sad, because I have enjoyed his work since the early 1980's. He was such a great heel.

Great to see Don back on your channel, I think if you can make it happen, having more duos is a great way to go because a lot of these guys have done many solo interviews. I would like to see Brutus Beefcake and the Honky-tonk Man go over together what was happening with their run because the stories are a bit different. Honky-tonk Man and Jake Roberts at the same time would also be good.

Dusty Rhodes Bankrupted everything he Booked so not a Surprised he would be Broke. His stuff never worked driving away Powers of Pain wanting to do STupid Scaffold Match with guys like 300 pounds who can match Road Warriors ;)? Funny they had liquid Valium which can't imagine what that must have been like. Lou Albano sounds difficult to deal with drinking all that but always liked him as Super Mario on that Super Show. Though I hear stories about Phil Baroni being problem so people not wanting to book him who related to him. Funny that one trip had All Those Guys Fired like JYD or Bulldogs or Rock. Glad they didn't get Brown Frown Weed back then. Must be nice having it Legal in Vegas. RVD is there so must toke with The Hammer too :).

Today wrestling isnt wrestling its acting and thats vinces fault used to the made it look real now they make it completely obvious i watched a WrestleMania match with my grandkids and one guy got knocked down the other guy got on the top rope the guy laying down was in the wrong position so he got up moved to the right position and layed back down i was like what the hell but Vince made it non violent no blood and really its alot of talking and most of them are bad with the microphone the guys today couldn't lace the boots of the wrestlers from the 70 s and 80s and even the 90s when things started to suck if Vince senior had known what Junior was going to do he would have given the wwf to someone else because he kept it good and interesting but junior built hogan on the rocky movies his entire career was a rocky movie until he went to wcw

Back in the early 90's, I was a taxi driver in the Newark NJ area. I use to drive around some real deal mobsters sometimes. I was telling one the mob guys one night during a ride, that I recently had the Metal Maniac and Jimmy superfly Snuka in the cab. He proceeded to tell me a few years back, over off of Wilson or Ferri st, not far from the airport. Don Morocco did something in one of their bars and he came real close to getting killed. He didn't get into detail, but he said they were set up to get him, when he left the bar, but something came up and they had to leave and when they got back he was gone. He said, that man had no clue how close he was to dieing that night.

Great interview, I remember watching these guys as a preteen, at age 12 when I started martial arts and boxing. I realized that they were working. Later as a kickboxer, I was in the same circles as the old-school pro wrestlers. I never failed to tell those guys how much I respected what they did. I still have mad respect for those tough guys! I had a fellow kickboxer who later became a pro wrestler. He related to me just how tough pro wrestling was, he actually received a serious injury wrestling. I was watching him on tv as he was injured. I immediately call him to see if it were legit, he was indeed injured!
