CBS is the biggest Donkey behind for having Craig Ferguson leave. Craig Ferguson was never afraid to be on the receiving end of joke. All He cared about is that we were entertained and have a great laugh.

Ferguson decided not to renew his contract for three reasons. 1) David Letterman, his boss and lead in show was ending his show 4 months later. 2) it had been 9 years and Craig was tired of the grind of daily TV.. 3) He made a small fortune and it was a good time to walk away especially with Letterman ending his show.

Agreed. As much as Craig couldn't adapt and keep up with Rickles, he made the right call every time, ceding ground to the showman. "All right, I'm sorry," Craig says on multiple occasions. He even steps down from his host's desk. It's such an interesting interview because while Rickles astonishingly is outwitting a very sharp Craig (at 83-years-old!), Craig is a brilliant host in knowing that the best route for the show would be to sort of bow out.

kaviraj singh, could agree more. Maybe Ferguson's fluff crew had over-pumped his ego to the point that he might've actually thought he was capable of being mentioned in the same sentence as DR when it comes to funny.
