I remember calling one of those lines back in the Sega Genesis era. It was just a recording of a bunch of game codes and tips. I hung up before they got to any games I cared about. I made sure to ok the call with my mother before making it.

That's why before clicking on videos like that, I check the time of the video, and weigh that into how much time I presume would be reasonable for conveying the information I'm after. If the video seems way too long for the information, I look elsewhere. As for written articles, I might skim through the first paragraph, and if they haven't gotten to the point yet, I'll usually leave unless the information I require is imperative.

As a kid I called a 900 line Nintendo had for gaming hints. I got the hint I needed within the first minute but then the helpline guy asked me if I had any other games. we then got into a whole conversation about other games i had and the strategies me and the helpline agent had used to beat them. A one minute call turned into 20. My dad got quite upset when the bill came.
