Thanks a lot for sharing this one! I always watch your book reviews about drawing anatomy, since that's a topic I want to get better at. Your video about Tom Fox's book actually convinced me to purchase it! 😊 Perhaps a question for you: Recently I encountered online a Chinese book that in English is roughly called "Animation Human Body Structure". It appears to contain high quality images and anatomy advice, in an appealing manga style. A KZitem unboxing video was posted here: kzitem.info/news/bejne/ppyJvaWXpGR8m4I I didn't order this book yet, since it's in Chinese and I can't find official translations of it, but it seems very cool. Also the shaded figures on the cover are amazing, they look almost 3D. Have you encountered this book yourself? Do you expect they will eventually translate this to English as well?

Hey, thanks so much for watching, I often go back to the Tom Fox Draws anatomy book myself, I think the way he uses mannequins and simplifies form is extremely helpful, so you went for a good one! I haven't seen that book before that you linked - All I can say is if I can find that book ( and now I must! ) then my wallet is going to dislike you for it lol. It looks like it has some incredible simplification information when it comes to using basic shapes, but also a lot of quite advanced information and illustrations, that as you mentioned, as quite stylised and could be less helpful for beginners - that being said the style is AMAZING. Thank you for sharing the title, I don't suppose you know anything else about it for me to start researching into it? Wish me luck, and thank you for this suggestion!

@@SketchedbySte I tried to post a reply here with another video I found of this book and where it could it be purchased, but KZitem doesn't show the reply perhaps due to a technical reason. You can always let me know if you received that comment or not 😊

@@TJ-fv9vs So I can't find the comment (maybe KZitem blocked it, but I can't find it in hidden comments etc) I did however find a few websites that have it, it was super tricky to know if they were legit copies or fakes though. I found some legit that would not ship to the UK. BUT... after a lot of searching I have ordered a copy online, it will take a while to arrive, and it was relatively cheap, so I am preparing myself that it might turn up and be something completely different haha. I will keep you posted and definitely make a video for it when it arrives ( if it's legit haha ) thanks so much for the suggestion again, can't wait to get this one

@@SketchedbyStehmmm the thing is right now im reading the dong ho kim perspective book i just started and i love it i also ordered this book however im not sure which order i should learn it in would i just learn the perspective first as ive already started that then learn anatomy/figures? also do you know any anatomy/figure books i would say im not a beginner in drawing but just past that

this one seems very stylized, I have his perspective and is amazing but this one seems intermediate by that I mean that you are working on creating a unique character design. at least this is what I saw on this preview. tomfox and rockne seems better for beginners and more complete.

I would classify Tom Fox's anatomy book as intermediate. He gets very loose with proportions and such. In fact, I would be hard-pressed to qualify any worthwhile figure drawing/anatomy books as totally beginner level, I would say at least advanced beginner (beginners should study drawing basic forms in 3D). I just ordered Rockhe Kim's anatomy drawing book and he purports that as 'beginner' level, so we'll see.

I can understand that, if someone was a complete beginner maybe seeing this book would look overwhelming how he breaks down shapes and such. I think you're right about Dongho's perspective book being great for beginners, I like the simplification of the layout too, everything is broken down into bite size chunks, which makes it a lot easier for me at least. Yeah the Rockhe Kim & Tomfox draws books are great, have you checked out the Taco point drawing book too? You may like that one, let me know what you think - kzitem.info/news/bejne/2IOAtmxnhX6nmHo

Oh man that's great news ( about feeling inspired to draw, not about having surgery of course! ) Let me know what you think to it if you do buy the book! I added a discount to the description box too. Thanks for watching!
