@@michaelvaughn-walker5783 Joe Rogan just has a sort of mob mentality about comedy. Don't know if you were a fan of Ope & Ant, but listeners will remember he had this beef with Carlos Mencia that sort of brought out the worst in him in this regard... He's on such vastly different platforms in such vastly different roles, that he pretty much functions more as a hype-man than an arbiter of good comedy (or common sense, honestly). He did have a point though, people who steal jokes seem to just be allowed to get away with it, and people with a public presence should be encouraged to point it out when it occurs. Nobody else seems to do anything about it. Awesome and original set by Stanhope, as usual.

CONVERSELY, when the shared interest is genuine.... such fun ensues. The BANTER following that moment is... This guy should ask Brendan Schaub or Bert Kreischer for some help writing funny jokes. Either one of those legends will be able to help this new lad get used to not having to use a laugh track in his stand up to make it seem like the audience laughed. I was there that night, there wasn't even anyone in the crowd for the taping, we all had to leave the auditorium so they could put cardboard cutouts into the seats. We all got to watch the show on TV screens and absolutely no one was laughing, actually that's a lie he did get a few real laughs, but no where near the amount in this laugh track.

@@ofrenic Perhaps crime rates are especially high due to other societal factors in spite of high incarceration rates. Or perhaps it isn't a (good) deterrent, after all. Would that be due to prisons being too tough or not tough enough? How would you tell? Perhaps the intensity of the punishment is secondary, and more focus should be drawn towards rehabilitative measures instead. The idea that prison _should be a punishment_ is at best incomplete. It should ALSO be a punishment (not for the sake of just punishing people) as well as a means of restoration dependent on justice. If nothing else, then at least try to minimize re-offenders, and I don't mean by treating them as animals or keeping them in prison forever.
