A visit to Main Street in downtown Paris finds food, drink and a number of historic buildings revitalized through local preservation efforts.
Paris isn't just in Bourbon County-now it's in Bourbon Country once again. For the first time since Prohibition, a distillery has opened in Paris: The Gentleman, owned by Andrew Buchanan and Curtis Mackley. In addition, Paris's first microbrewery, Rooster Brewing, owned by Ralph Quillin, has opened on Main Street.
We also stop by Clay's Downtown Restaurant, a dining spot that is popular with the horse industry crowd. The antiques and gallery district on Main Street features 10 museums, antique shops and galleries in six blocks. Our visit wouldn't be complete without a look inside Loch Lea Antiques and a cup of coffee at Lil's Coffee Place.
