Don't know what "trying" would mean in that case. If you want them to ask me, write them and suggest it

Sex workers ask that you call them that "sex workers" it better reflects what they do (iie. labor that involves sex). They say that the term "prostitute" "whore" is loaded and is offensive. Anyone that can appreciate Heidegger distancing himself from the term "self" should appreciate that.

I'm a Marxist in some form and I love Nietzsche. Although, sometimes I think he pointed the finger at Christianity when in fact I think many of the symptoms of modernity he pointed out were likely a result of capitalism. Walter Benjamin was a great writer on many of the more devout aspects of capitalist societies. Unfortunately those kinds of critiques of capitalism which could find Nietzsche helpful are not emphasized by the left today in favor of a moralising which actually reminds me of the Nietzschean descriptions of christianity. Also, give Zizek more of a chance. If you havn't already, try sublime object or his book on violence called 'Violence'. Both are great. Edit just got to the part on the left and Nietzsche. Curious to know who on the left has adopted him? I have a feeling I know what you mean by 'de-fanged' though. Critiques of capitalism and such societies have adopted the kind of tactics and stance which, unfortunately, is de-fanged and nuetured by their very logic, so Nietzsche would not be off limits. Although, the left tends to de-fang their own thinkers too.

Oh, I gave Zizek plenty of chances. Read a lot of him earlier on. I'd have to make the time to go back to his stuff, and I don't know whether that will be the case anytime soon

It seems as though you're going to have to start titling these as "Dr. Sadler's People Ask About Jordan Peterson, Nick Land, and Sam Harris Sessions".

Fellow Milwaukeean here (Riverwest). Have you read any of Cormac McCarthy's work? I highly recommend Blood Meridian, would love to hear your thoughts on the book. Hope to see you around the Philosophy Meet up in the future, cheers.

I haven't read McCarthy. Not sure what meetup you mean. There isn't one called "Philosophy Meetup" in MKE as far as I know, and I host several of the philosophy focused meetups

Dr. Sadler I couldn’t make it to the livestream, but i’d appreciated if you could help me with something. I have read a lot of philosophy, yet i am still caught up with philosophy jargon. What is a good resource, perhaps a book, in which concepts such as semiotics, hermeneutics, phenomenology, etc,.. are explained?

No idea. I spend very little time looking over resources like that myself
