I'm late to the vid but I hope you see my comment, as I'm a custom game designer with a specific need I can't seem to find anywhere online, and maybe you can help! I would like to create digital booster packs for my game and allow other people to open those packs. I've been informed that MSE allows users to upload non-Magic cards, but I worry that my game might not play nice with MSE, as all of my cards are double-sided, and other differences besides. Can you think of any in-browser experience that allows for a creator to upload sealed digital booster packs of custom game cards, that others can subsequently access in an intuitive way? Thank you!

Planesculptors is not too particular about the image of the card. As long as they're JPGs, it should work. The more difficult part would be manually creating a .txt file that contains all the information it's looking for so it won't fail to upload. Also, it only lets you make 15-card packs, so it's a bit rigid in its functionality. I've heard good things about Draftmancer as a very flexible drafting program. You can draft with it pulling cards straight from CubeCobra, which is a program that supports custom images. However, you do need to staple your custom image onto an existing Magic card name, which could get tedious to do for hundreds of cards. I haven't really used either of those programs, so I can't speak from experience, but as far as I know that would be your best shot. If and when you figure it out, I'd love to take a look at your game. I've been trying to design a card game of my own and it's proven difficult to do well.

@@StrataGames All the gobbledygook around importing/exporting customized Magic-template-turned-custom-game cards and using multiple programs and hosts feels doomed by a dozen or more failure points. (Thank you for your speedy response!) It's kind of blowing my mind a bit that something like what I'm looking for doesn't already exist. All it would require is a basic image upload interface, a handful of toggles, an account creator, basic RNG, and a personal album. These things already exist for every website associated with custom gaming, they just aren't being put to use the way I'd need them to be. As for my game, it's effectively finished. But it's based on an existing IP and moreover I've always treated the project as an art project more than a truly-consistent game system. (Although, it is.) I think I'm legally in the clear to sell these cards - right now just in digital form - as they represent transformative pieces of art; but there's just no infrastructure in place for me to reach whatever audience might be out there. I know a LOT about graphic design, templating, and rules drafting though, thanks to all this profitless work I've done over the course of the last 12 years!

@@edibleapeman Yeah, it seems like it wouldn't be hard to design a program to do the things you're looking for -- not that I have the ability to make it, so somebody should.
