Alloy bezel, printed dial, flat hands, invicta style branding engraving and rather ordinary looks, quite like the hugely chunky engineer bracelet tho. oh, and the lumes good, but I think it looks cheap, to me the dial is the most important part of the watch and this one is dull. Also what the heck is that on the caseback?

In 2022 there are a lot of microbrands competing for potential buyers' attention. So in order to succeed they have to offer something. This one does with good quality, attention to detail, a personal touch and a distinctive design language, which is something I like.

Very nice looking, and a very solid value proposition. For me, I would've saved the leather pouch and extra details in favor of a slightly nicer movement, maybe something higher beat. That might've in turn resulted in a slightly thinner watch, and a lighter overall package. But that's just me nitpicking lol. The value proposition is certainly there and certainly quite good.

There must be a South African connection to Draken watches. Drakensberg - a mountain range in SA. Tugela* - a major river in SA. (*This watch features Mont au Sources in the Drakensberg on its caseback). Benguela - an ocean current on SA's west coast. Kruger - the major national park in SA. I would guess that owner Mike is a "Saffer". Nice watches at very keen prices. I wonder how Mike gets a supply of an ETA movement from the Swatch Group in Switzerland... Kudos to him, though!

I own the all black. And whilst it is 100% a heavy watch, the bracelet is so thick that it holds most of the weight right next to the wrist, and distributes it around the wrist, that it never feels top heavy, and balances nicely. Its fast become one of my favorite watches.

Great review. The watch definitely has a distinct personality/look. I’m normally not a fan of bead blasted watches but with this one it just seems to fit the design. Shame about the weight, maybe with a scaled down version, say 39 or 40mm it would really find its balance.

This is a beautiful looking watch on the bracelet. I really like the bead blasted look and the shine of that aluminium bezel. Like the lumed date wheel but would prefer a square date window. Not too keen on the look of it on the brown leather strap though (although it looks decent quality). I’m off to check out their website.

Very nice watch Pete. They give you alot for the money and the quality is exceptional! I like the fact that you have the aluminum bezel which lends itself to the bead blasted finishing in my opinion. And with the two straps, what a great deal. Another enjoyable video mate!!

I bought a blue one. Got the leather strap too. But the bracelet is one of the most comfortable I've ever worn. Tried the watch out with the leather strap and a FKM rubber strap but kept going back to the bracelet. The blue doesn't seem to go that well with brown leather or black FKM but pops on the bracelet. Only disappointment is the 10-11 spd. NH35's are pot luck with their accuracy.
@PeterKotsa
2 жыл бұрын
Yeah blue is a tough colour to get right with leather But you’re absolutely right, that bracelet is perfectly balanced with this As for accuracy 10-11 is pretty good for NH35 it will probably settle in several months to a slightly better rate, but that’s pretty good Enjoy

The Matterhorn Divemaster 300 seems a better value. Better dimensions, slimmer, same water resistance, better movement (Miyota 9015/9039), extra FKM rubber strap, leather case and around $50 cheaper at the moment. Draken has more experience in the market though. Would love to know your thoughts on this Peter! Nice video! Thanks for sharing!

I'm tired of reviewers saying it's an unbiased review because there were not stipulations that came with getting a watch for free. The truth is that getting things for free is the stipulation. Bad reviews could cut you off from getting peices to review which could lead to bias. Now I'm not saying thos is the case but declaring that it's completely unbiased because they didn't tell you what to say isn't correct.
@PeterKotsa
2 жыл бұрын
I hear what you're saying. If you've noticed with my channel, the majority of watches that are free, I usually give them away to my viewers, thats why I ask for the supplier to donate the watch for the review. Some watches I might keep for myself, but most go to the viewers 🙏 As for me being influenced, not a chance, if I like a watch I will tell it as I see it, if not, the same applies. I am glad you shared this, I will try to find time to create a video about this exact topic 👍 Thanks again

In the past 6 months I have sent two Miyota and a Sellita in for repairs to the watchmaker I cannot remember the last time I sent an NH35 in.
