Beautifully done, built a studio in an exterior Victorian brick garage at a home I owned in the 90s. It was equally soundproof but the only way we could achieve it was by gluing all of the internal soundproof wall sections with liquid rubber and not using any nails or screws which made the build a nightmare and liquid rubber never comes off… Anything! Nice to see you applying a solid high-tech philosophy to your designs.

It'd be interesting to hear/see the db meter outside again, studio door wide open, then close it whist drums/music continues. Great job!

What a room! Beautiful!!! Next time ... expand the interior ... Taller ceilings, etc ... need more elbow room for about 50 more drum kits ... the heck with storage ... make a much bigger room! This one could be the reception, cool-down room ... a beautiful soundproofed room that leads to the main attraction ... a 2 story addition with a ton of display area. Love what you've done ... it was a reminder that my deal needs some adjusting ... You have an A+!!!!!

Cool! I went with an 2x2x2,5 Esmono. For the next house it will be either a house that already has a studio or a much more spacier one build.

@Soundproofing Expert Was the overall internal or external size constrained by budget, or by local building ordinances/regulations? Why not have the drum storage kept in the main room for easy access and a larger main room overall? Is the storage area also well thermally insulated to minimize the contraction and expansion of the drums with changing temperature extremes? Cheers!

Great video and excellent job! Air-tightness is obviously very important for sound proofing. You mentioned the air-con pipes are "siliconed in". Is this just a matter of sealing around the hole through which the pipes enter? Are there any important details here? Type of sealant, for example? Did you do this or did the air con installation company take care of it?
@soundproofingexpert777
Жыл бұрын
Hi Matt…. Thanks for watching! The aircon pipes can be sealed with anything as they enter the building. Silicone, expanding foam or whatever you have! On this occasion the aircon company sealed it up for us!! Hope that helps! 👍🏻

Great video 👍🏻 Any footage of the readings directly outside the structure doors and the fresh air system? Very interested in those.
@soundproofingexpert777

That’s something we could look at! There is zero loss of sound through the fresh air vents due to the system we have designed. Hopefully do another test in the coming weeks! 👍🏻

That is also something I am very interested in seeing the DB reading when you're a lot closer outside the studio there must be some sound coming out just wanted to see how much was coming out I presume it's very minimal!

Great video I have seen most of these and its brilliant to see how its is done! Can I ask how long did the build take in total and how big is that room/dimensions etc? I noticed Elliott could get Two kits in there although it looked a bit tight.
@soundproofingexpert777
Жыл бұрын
The build would normally be around 7 weeks including the storage area and leaving time in the middle for plaster to dry out. This one took a bit longer as we spent more time filming it!! This one is 4.5m x 3.5m externally and 3.8m x 2.8m internally! 😊

Are those little vents going to supply enough oxygen to the room? Split system AC isn't bringing in any fresh air!

Good point! There is a mechanical fan system also which delivers 187m3 of fresh air per hour so it’s adequate for a sealed room!!
