the responses to the last one were so nice I thought I'd do another also a slightly improved version of the first is edited on the end like before, I re-rendered and composited the scene in HD, the assets are not mine
I’m watching Star Trek so damn much that I even hear sounds to the phaser and desruptor blasts….

This is absolutely exquisite. Thank you for sharing this and sharing your talent! How is it the DS9 battle scenes looked better than anything NuTrek is capable of doing? They seem so obsessed with lens flares and murky, dimly-lit shots that we aren't even able to make sense of anything they are showing on screen.

***** I think it's very unlikely that DS9 will ever get remastered by Paramount/CBS. But instead of hoarding it, they could allow a kick-starter type project to get it made. All we need is access to the original film reels, hire Mike Okuda and some of the original SFX guys. Maybe some volunteers. If Paramount/CBS then want to have the profits (if any) from that - they're welcome to it. I'd donate to such a project.

There are still a few copy+paste scenes that I'd really want replaced in a HD remaster, such as the Mirandas getting blown up in both the Sacrifice of Angels and What You Leave Behind (a brief unique sequence could go there instead, and it would massively add to the quality of the battle). The vast majority of the work could stand on its own though.

If CBS/Paramount decide to remaster DS9 with new visual effects they need to hire you... this is of incredible professional quality... unbelievable! I showed my mother the video of the Enterprise E ready room/captain's yacht and she would not believe that it was cgi and not an actual set... absolutely stunning skill and talent...

And where did you hear that? That rumour has been around since 2012 while TNG was still being released on Blu-Ray. Quite frankly, nothing has been said officially since 2012 as to the future of DS9 and Voyager on Blu-Ray. And going by the gap between when TOS-R's "The Cage" finished and TNG-R's Farpoint started, I don't expect to hear anything official from CBS till sometime in 2017.
@DavidKnowles0
6 жыл бұрын
Only way we will get it is if Netflix or Amazon demand it and pony up the cash to make it happen. STNG cost 12 million dollars. DS9 and Voyager need substantially more work, so the combine project would require probably around 50 million dollars

If by some Miracle Ds9 ever does get redone - perhaps for Netflix (or similar) I wonder if they will make changes like putting Impulse engines on a Nebula Class for example. or adding some of the 1st Contact ships they couldn't due to the CGI model not being compatible or going missing or what ever the reason was. That might especially apply if the last episode needs redoing or some stock footage needs replacing with new shots.

the ship from the films weren't available because geniuses, aka the idiots in charge of the franchise didn't want people seeing the ships on screen before they saw them at the cinema.

Well there were a lot of ship models on screen so the developers of DS9 couldn't put a unique name on every single one of them, plus it doesn't really matter anyway since that ship was only in frame for a few seconds
