Dundee is somewhere my best friend Izzy and I have always wanted to visit. When I surprised her with a weekend in Edinburgh for her birthday and found out that Dundee was only an hour's train journey away from the capital city, I knew we had to make it happen.
Join us for the day as we get an unexpected train upgrade to first class (wheelchair perks!) and enjoy the most beautiful journey I've ever experienced in the UK, and then head to the V&A Museum. We also did some book shopping in Waterstones and visited Overgate Shopping Centre, and then stopped by Loco Rita's for vegan tapas for lunch. Unfortunately the venue wasn't as accessible for power-chairs as we were led to believe, but the amazing food almost totally made up for it.
The next day we visited a few touristy spots in Edinburgh, including Edinburgh Castle and The World's End Pub, before heading back home to Yorkshire. Hope you enjoy!
As always, please note that I'm an ambulatory wheelchair user living with a chronic illness known as an Energy Limiting Condition. We all have unique needs and access requirements, so it's always best to double-check access information and adjustments for yourself before making plans. I don't speak for or represent every disabled person, but use my little corner of the internet to share my authentic experiences!

Hello! My name is Pippa Stacey and I’m a disabled writer, presenter, and communications consultant based in York. I enjoy theatre, books, and fundraising, and can most often be found wearing some form of pyjamas and drinking all the tea.
I acquired my chronic illness as a young adult and struggle daily with the challenges of living my best life alongside managing a debilitating health condition. However, I’ve finally learned that I don’t have to ‘overcome’ or ‘defy’ my illness in order to be successful, and there’s truly nobody’s path to follow but your own.
You can find out more by visiting www.lifeofpippa.co.uk, and subscribe to see videos about my experiences with inclusive work, accessible travel, and learning to make the most of life alongside my chronic illness. Thank you so much for being here!
