I was there. I was 16 in 1981 and fully embraced being a new romantic and Duran Duran. Everyone I show my teen photos to immediately comment you look like Duran Duran. Mullet, highlights, earings! As a musician myself, I have very eclectic tastes. I have always loved Duran Duran, especially everything they did in the 80's. I also, listen to bands such as Van Halen, Volbeat, Disturbed and the list goes on...instrumentalists like Joe Stariani and Steve Vai as well, but among my hodge podge of music that I keep on a thumb drive in my car is every album from Duran Duran from the 80's. Throws my kids heads for a spin, when they here me listening to those albums in my car. They just can't see me listening to synth driven, neo-disco tainted music (and I hate disco), since I am viewed as the headbanging lead guitarist dad!

Duran Duran should be taught, glorified and repeated relentlessly at the Fine Arts because they were so sensual and striking in terms of style communication approach during the eighties. Duran Duran needs to be definitively brought back to an irradiant and mondial light through the world of art in general. Patrick Nagel, Christy Turlington, James Bond... I mean so many meaningful references linked to them. THEY WERE LEGENDARY AND THEY WILL BE LEGENDARY ONCE GAIN.
