Oh this makes me so excited for how or property will end up looking. We just started and already so glad we chose a grass/clover combo. 🎉

I love your channel! Your garden is beautiful. I'm researching how to transition from grass to clover in my front lawn. Its sandy clay soil and grass seed doesnt grow at all.

I just realized I can’t grow clover because neighbors on both sides use round up and it comes over almost my whole front yard and 1/4 of my back yard. I really wanted to do it. Yours looks really nice!

Hello, sir. Could you please give an update on if you went with clover, what kind of clover and how it interacted with your centipede grass? I have centipede grass and am considering white dutch clover to add to my lawn. Thanks!

Hello. I've watched several of your videos and have found them quite informative and entertaining. I see that you are from the South, as well. I live further south than you though, in the Florida Panhandle. I wanted to ask your opinion with regards to clover, specifically White Dutch clover, and it's relationship with our warmer-season grasses. I tried growing clover seed several, several months ago and it was a complete dud....all died. About 3 weeks ago I went ahead and installed a centipede grass lawn/sod. Do you feel that if I were to spread the clover seed into an established lawn it would fare better than what I was doing before? I still love the idea of a clover lawn....but I'm concerned on how the centipede and clover will interact. Your thoughts? Thanks in advance.

We were just in Pensacola and Gulfshores last week so i understand the concern. Dutch white or ladino should still do well there but it will not be as full specially in summer. You definitely have to seed in the fall there not spring or summer for a better chance. Now if you just had new centipede added, I do not suggest mixing until your centipede lawn with clover until it is established. Centipede is extremely slow to start and may get overpowered by your clover which is a quick grower once established. Until you get the grass established I’d say skip the clover lawn. Hope air helps and good luck . You can always try on a section first before spending on the whole yard

@@gardenonahillvin Excellent, thank you! I'd considered doing the clover seed in the fall as you've suggested. The current 100+ degree temperatures would be suicide right now, lol. And the centipede sod I've put down has already started to root so I think I should be good to attempt the clover in another 4 months. I'll also do as you suggested and test it on an inconspicuous part of the yard. But, again, thanks!

great video! Did your front lawn get watered or have irrigation to stay green thoughout the summer? Curious how draught tolerant it is. I just reseeded here in in the Northeast with Dutch white clover and grass seed for the first time.

Tim C thank you. I do not have any irrigation system. The front only depends on regular rains we have here in the southeast.

1 other question - when you seeded the clover on the grass plot, did you use any fertilizer or weed control during the growing season? Len looks great btw!
