I think Dusty looked AWESOME here. This is my favorite look for her- 1978, 1979, 1980, 1981. I had a VERY similar hairstyle (although dark auburn) back then. Lots of hot curlers! She was living in "plastic, insincere LA" back then. She should have come down south to the other LA- Louisiana! People invite you to dinner because they do like you! Love ya Dust! RIP

Dusty actually did come down to New Orleans to play the Blue Room for a month or two, while she was residing in the states. Check out You Tube video of her singing "New Orleans" it's an amazing job and she nails it. Would love to be able to hear a recording of her at the Blue Room but probably none was made. Also, to hear any stories about Dusty's experience while in N.O. if she liked it or what. She probably loved our music scene.

RIP 🙏 Dusty 💜💙💙💚💚💛❤❤ Love you and hate the way so of these men interviewers act like they could care less about the interview itself with stupid questions. Glad that you interrupted him and made it a better interview with your own topics and corrected him!💕💕💕💕💕🎶🎵🎼🎸🎙💿🎵🎶

Got to give a "bravo" to Dust, for always finding a way to turn the spotlight away from herself and to a "cause!" Her modesty shines through, especially when she chortles over being called "legendary." As always, thanks, Frans.

Yes, Dusty was humble. So many have said she really didn't know how great of a singer she was. But someone very close to her stated she knew exactly how good she was, that's why in the recording studio, "It had to be perfect." It was so great to hear that she realized how talented she was and was willing to work hard at giving that gift of hers to her audience.

I love that Dusty is so real... Fixing her shoe, and talking about tea, taking the train, and the realities of shallow LA society (and I'm an American), but the best is how she started talking about cats and completely controlled the narrative before he could ask the ever popular questions about her personal life. Good job Dusty, not letting him bully you. Cat people are good people! RIP kind lady.

I like how no matter what accent of English that you have you sing in my dialect of Mid-Western American English.

Not much of a gentleman. Could have offered his hand to help her up after the shoe crisis. Mostly interview seems like a missed opportunity. You've got Dusty Springfield sitting next to you but only interview her for five minutes? She got a lot of ground covered despite lame questions. She looks great in this. Love her hair and makeup.

Thanks for the feedback! I wish I could find a good interview with Dusty lasting over 10 minutes with good questions. Read a book recently on Dusty "Scissor and Paste" was happy to find lots of quotes from Dusty in there. Very enlightening. Found book on Ebay as out of print.

+Lori Romano no problem I am a big fan aswell and yes the interviews tend to always ask irrelivent questions and especially this interview I felt for dusty a bit because of how uncomfortable he made her feel...well good luck with the book lori😊

Samlad2001, I felt the same as you did. Too bad so many interviewers with Dusty were rude and unprepared to interview her. But that book I was talking about really is mostly of interviews she did. The author I think cuts and pastes various ones together. Did a good job on it.

Doesn't sound very patriotic. Someone died of rabies a couple of years ago, she was bit by a dog in India. Came back to the UK and died here. You can't just let any old dog come in without checks. Sounds like she wanted to be in the US cos it was better for her career. She was a has-been by this point anyway, she was great in the sixties, but by the 70s things had moved on and she was out of date. Apparently, she wanted to be in the US cos she was a lesbian, and could not come out in the UK, they did not mind over there and she could have relationships.
