Wasn't she amazing?the dancers on these variety shows back then always looked silly and ridiculous to me they were talented but in my opinion an unwanted distraction Dusty and other great singers back then would have been fine on their own

One comment mentioned "moving between tracks." This is not pieces of prerecorded tracks spliced together. In those days special orchestrations were written and performed. It's called a "medley." These are the skills and talents of actual professional musicians, arrangers and singers. Today's public is so dumbed-down they have no idea of what quality is. They don't even realize they're applauding software.

I was seven years old in 1970 and now I'm sixty years old.I have never know of anyone with such a beautiful singing voice like Dusty Springfield. A gift God gave to us to be blessed by her!

This must be one of Dusty's best TV recordings. She's consistently excellent from start to finish - which isnt always the case when she sings medleys. Great post Frans.

What a voice! Growing up in West London in the 1960s my strict boys' Catholic School was allowed into St Anne's Convent School once a year. Which was where Mary Isobel O'Brien (Dusty) went. Sadly she had left by the time I got there!

This was a great promotional opportunity for Dusty to plug the Memphis LP! There were a couple of other songs mixed into it. Cool to see her doin' Breakfast in Bed (although very brief on that one). Not aware of any LIVE performances of "Breakfast in Bed." Too bad. As she is stuck with lip syncing, she really does some dance moves and works the wig!!!!

Love Dusty with the long hair, she sometimes was truly gorgeous, such a shame that just as she was looking so good, that her career lost it's way. that being said she looked pretty amazing 9 ears later when she mad her comeback (check out her singing "Quiet Please there's a Lady on Stage" live at The Royal Albert Hall, and then sh fluttered away again and came back united with the Pet shop Boys

What a hottie ! Was a preteen back then, but still wished I was that son of a preacher man. She always sang with such feeling. Wonder if she cooks as good as she sings...nah, wouldn't matter, if you could kiss that cook goodnight every night & wake up to her the nest morning ! ! Grrrrr.

Medleys... No thanks. Only enjoyable in swimming competitions. And why oh why was a singer of Dusty Springfield's sublime ability and stature miming? The resources available to this show would have included great musicians, so no excuse.
