My Dyson V6 Trigger vacuum (DC35) is out of warranty so when my battery started to fault (again!) when using MAX suction mode, I decided that instead of buying a new expensive battery, I would try an adapter that allows me to use my Milwaukee M18 and DeWalt 20V MAX power tool batteries. I got this one from Amazon and while I find 4.0-5.0 Ah power tool batteries run the vacuum a little harder (in my opinion), it sure beats waiting 3 hours for a Dyson battery to charge. The adapter allows me to run the vacuum for as long as necessary to get household chores done. The adaptor installs in less than 5 minutes, and batteries should not be left on the vacuum when the vac is not in use. Leaving M18 and 20VMax batteries connected to the vacuum when not in use can over discharge them, which can damage cells and reduce their ability to reach a full charge.
If the adaptor eventually damages the vac I will post back here. The purpose of this video is to let folks know there are adapter alternatives to expensive replacement batteries. IMO, a $22 adapter sure beats buying a new Dyson battery.
