Too many are/were silent on Desean's comments, and while I do think they came from a place of ignorance, that doesn't make them any less appalling and harmful. I also agree he shouldn't be cut, but significant education and reaching out needs to happen, and he probably should be suspended for 1 game as a message that bigotry and this type of rhetoric are unacceptable in the NFL. Also I hope you keep the same attitude and energy for cancel culture in the future, and continue embracing education and conversation.

Props for taking this head on. Excellent commentary from Emmanuel Acho. Involuntary MS analogy interesting. Regardless of his intentions this is extremely problematic. Something must happen. Including education within that seems most productive.

Equating Kaepernick to DeSean Jackson was totally off-point. COMPLETELY off point.

Great rational observations. But DeSean gets no pass for this at all. He knows the power of disseminating bad and false things like this which only promotes hate. Someone with his status should be shamed until he demonstrates rehabilitation.

This guy doesn't believe in cancel culture. Yet, his job is based on someone else being cancelled.

Please apply this stance against cancel culture to everyone. We all need to have the space to correct and educate each other and grow. Trial by Twitterverse will be the death of the nobler aspirations of our culture.
