'Leftover Easter Eggs' ;-) Well, to be fair my Daughters get loads so it is possible! Anyhow, here's how to make them, ingredients are in the description or here too barrylewis.net/recipe/easter-egg-cheesecakes/

Barry, if you get an Easter Egg this year incased in a plastic shell. you could use it as a mold to make different Easter Eggs next year. just melt normal £1 chocolate bars "white, dark, milk or a mixture) and then add cereal, Smarties, biscuity bits or even Popping Candy. you could even try different flavours like you said, orange, mint, vanilla ect. I recon you could make then for half the price of a store bought Easter Egg.

This... I"m walking a thin line with this- but really- 'power tools for the kitchen' almost needs to be a thing- when you need to cut, grind, or otherwise do things to food that don't involve the 'usual' methods.

Little tip if you need to cut cleanly through chocolate again: Heat up the knife, or even use a heated wire, for example heated over a gas flame. Just don't forget heat-proof gloves.
@natas809
3 жыл бұрын
Heated wire sounds a better idea, the knife cools down and ends up causing stress fractures, I use a aerated knife as it drags the chocolate away rather than trying to force it apart and worked a lot better, I've made like 15 of these now, there were a few casualty eggs 🤣🤣

Heyo, Barry! I know a way you can level up the banana one even more. You slice the bananas, then caramelize them in table butter over low heat in a non-stick pan, then whiz them up with the filling. You'll need a silicon spatula to turn the slices over in the pan, they tend to stick to any other material. No breading, no batter, just raw bananas into mildly hot salted butter. Why it's so stonkin': This method turns the sliced fruit into pillowy little clouds of sweetness encased in their own natural toffee. The milk solids from the butter add an additional richness and creaminess for which there is truly no substitute. And that little bit of salt from the butter just happens to be the perfect amount of seasoning to keep them from being too cloying. Truly lovely stuff.

That's correct, but Brits are notorious for not appreciating subtle differences, so they sell it as caramel in a can - though the difference between caramelized milk and caramelized sugar is more than just a bit subtle. Nestle sell this product as part of their Carnation line, I recognised the colours on the tin Barry was holding. The other product in the line is condensed milk.

Love the 'Death Metal biscuit obliteration', Barry. Meme-worthy stuff, right there. It's not you - treats are getting smaller, depressingly so. When you can, check out a museum of packaging - there are several in the UK, and look at sweet wrappers, and how much bigger they used to be. When I was a kid, in the 1960's and '70's, chocolate bars were a serious size.

You missed a trick with this one Barry. Take your egg half, put the toppings in first, make the cheesecake filling with some gelatine, add your flavours and put them in next, finally top them with biscuit. Leave it in the fridge to set then invert them chocolate side up on the plate, get some hot caramel sauce and pour it over. The caramel will melt the egg and reveal the cheesecake.
