ingredients:
Boiling:
4 Peeled Potatoes
8 cups or 2 Litres Water
1 tbsp or 16 g Sugar
2 tbsp or 33 g Salt
Mixture:
Grated Potatoes.
1/3 cup or 50g all-purpose flour.
1/2 tsp or 2g Garlic Powder
1/2 tsp or 2g Onion Powder
1 tsp or 9g Salt
4 tbsp or 99g Yogurt (Unflavored Home-Made or Store brought)
4 tbsp or 68g softened or cooled melted butter
Frying:
1/3 cup vegetable oil on Low Heat.
Directions:
- Peel the potatoes and place them in a medium-sized open pot. Add Water.
-Add Salt and Sugar and cover the pot.
-As soon as the water starts to vigorously boil, set your timer to 5 mins. Boil the potatoes for 5 mins.
-As soon as the timer is up immediately drain the hot water and fill the pot with cold water. Let the potatoes sit for 10 mins.
-Add Flour, Garlic Powder, Onion Powder, Salt, Yogurt, and Butter.
-Mix gently so as not to mash the potatoes.
-Place 1/3 cup vegetable oil on slow heat.
- Make a 54 g ball or a small-sized ball and pat it into the shape of Hashbrown.
- Place the Hashbrowns and cover for at least 5 mins or until one side is crisp golden. Repeat for the other side.
