I'm widowed and live alone so I would say 90% of my meals are cooked in my toaster oven. I have no problem using my full size oven, but it's just easier and more efficient to use the toaster oven. Pretty much, as long as what I'm roasting fits on the pan the oven came with, I'm using it.

I have found a decent toaster oven to be the single most used kitchen appliance I have. Toasting, broiling, baking, roasting, re-heating, etc. The main advantage is convenience -- toaster ovens are placed on the counter at waist or shoulder height. There's no need to bend over, to use it (great for old geezers).

Mine's bigger than that & has the advantage of convection, and I use it for nearly everything my main oven can make. I'm 75, and not bending to lift is a big plus, but I assume it uses a lot less energy as well. Less to clean as well. The advantage my big oven has is it reaches 500°, which I need/prefer for pizza and some breads.
@hxhdfjifzirstc894
5 ай бұрын
I also use a toaster oven for almost everything (except large sheet pans, etc.) because it's so much easier, as you say... no need to bend and lift. The fact that they sit on the countertop, at waist or shoulder height is a HUGE convenience (you can put a platform underneath the oven, to raise it above counter height, if you like). Honestly, a modular/collapsible kitchen system could be based on a toaster oven, a couple of countertop induction burners, and a few clever 'nesting' tables with wheels on the legs.
