I am convinced butter cured my degenerative bone disease in my right foot. I went low carb over a decade ago. About 13 years now. For the first months I craved butter. Ate about a pound a week. Craved it. At that point every step for the last 10 years had been painful. I was suppose to be in a wheelchair by age 57. One day, walking downstairs I realized my foot did not hurt. 65 now and I can hop on that foot.

I am a carnivore by choice, but the choice was driven by all the problems associated with carb diets. Between ages 48 and 60 I gained weight and man boobs, as well as fat around my waist. As soon as I changed to a carnivore diet, everything started to change. Inflammation in my body decreased noticeable within a week or two, and the weight started to go down. Arthritis became less of a problem which was something hounding me for 12 years. Carpal tunnel syndrome decreased over a 3 to 4 months period and is almost completely gone, and I was able to bowl again after 5 years of not being able to pick up the ball. My skin healed and stopped being flaky and irritated especially on my face and scalp. My muscles started to grow again, and my skin which had suddenly gotten very thin over the last two years suddenly started to thicken again a little bit and regained some of its elasticity. I feel younger and my skin feels younger. I discovered your truth. Butter is gold. Bread was a gold pan, to hold the gold. Butter is king and was likely a key to health in ancient times. Fat keeps humans alive. Protien makes humans stronger. Animal sources of these nutritional needs are the gold standard of food. My cholesterol is on mark after 5 months. LDL is high as it has for 35 years, but that is genetic. The needle hasn't moved. All my markers are pegged center/center right. Love you channel and thank you for all the great content. At 60 I feel I have a new lease on life. I am hoping this will help me keep my cancer at bay, and keep me healthy. I go to a gym about 3 times a week and lift weights. I work out hard and am pretty strong. My hair started to fall out a little faster initially on this diet but suddenly started getting thicker and healthier. Toenails look nicer and fingernails grow faster and are very healthy.

The week before I made the choice to go carnivore, I sustained a severe bulge disc in my lower back, couldn't stand upright, and walk properly. Thank you so much Bella, Dr. Bright, your team, and everyone in the comment community. Wow. Over the span of my seventy plus years as a mom and now a grandma, I had tried many diets to reduce joint inflammation, heal my gut, and/or dispel migraine. You name it: macrobiotic (20 years), low-carb (10 years), then decades of chinese herbs, acupuncture, super foods, vegan, hi-protein shakes, juicing - but symptoms were getting worse - plus I began gaining weight. Finally, about three years ago, I combined Keto with intermittent fasting - which began to help. I lost 20 pounds without heavy exercising. This put me in the "not overweight for my height" category - but still I had the feeling of "dieting" or "deprivation". Still had zero energy. Kept craving sugar and carbs. The migraines continued. So did the chronic dehydration - no matter how much water I drank. From Keto I took the leap of faith into GAPS. For the first time in many years I was sleeping well and waking up without pain in my back. The success with GAPS encouraged me to go carnivore - which I did about a month ago, with excellent results. Energy up, brain fog gone, waistline to my pre-childbearing size. In the first week I lost three inches from my waistline (which had bloated out to 40 at my worst), now holding at 32. Within days after increasing butter and meat intake I was feeling like a teen. My heartfelt appreciation - it takes courage to face the myths we were "fed" about "low-fat" - but the result will speak for itself. Cravings for sugar/carbs are gone -maybe because my memory is stronger. I can now make better choices about food/water/electrolyte balance because I remember how much suffering is caused by empty carbs. Wishing everyone good health!

@@johnnymorera3199, That was precisely my situation. For a seemingly endless length of time, I to was convinced carbs were vital, especially to those who are very active or who are athletes! Calories, fat, salt/electrolytes do wonders! I get iodine from shrimp and vitamin D from salmon/cod as well as the sun.

I don't know your current body mass index but, I usually eat 1-2 fatty meals a day then the rest are more leaner cuts of meat. It's plausible you're eating past your maintenance calories. Eating anything in excess can make you gain weight. It sucks but we still have to be mindful, even if it's healthy. Because fat is very calorically dense.

OMG…Dr Bright just lit a Huge light bulb for me. People with high cortisol levels r not hungry in the morning. Her explanation was amazing. That is me to a T! For 30 years. I figured out the late night hunger pangs on my own, just a slice or of butter was all I needed. Previously I used to snack on either cereal or almonds. Not good. I’ve only been on BBBE for 5 days and I know the inflammation in my back is gone. I’ve been on pain meds for 13 years and feel confident I can stop them altogether . I’m so excited! The 6 lb weight loss is a blessing also. This is only a sliver of my story, but feeling blessed❤ Update 3/16/23. 2 months on bbbe. Guess I was too optimistic on my original comment. Lol. I have lost 28 lbs, I Feel Amazing! No brain fog, the mental clarity is something that shouldn’t be minimized. It’s one of the major benefits to me at least. The night time snaking gone, sleep is so much better even with my back pain. But the part where I said I’d be off of pain meds might have been too optimistic . Even though my inflammation is gone and much of the pain on the left side of my back is completely gone, the right side is still a beast to where I still a cane or rollator. Seeing my pain specialist and surgeon again this month, which is a regular thing for me. But that’s ok, I’m continuing to lose weight, maybe another 45 lbs will help. 😄

So good. Last weekend my daughter decided to do a 3 day fast. I agreed to do it with her. The day before she had an ultra stressful day - Driving about 8 hours in total to take a frustrating M-I-L to an appointment. FAST Day 1 she had a headache and at night her legs were aching like with period pain. She wasn't hungry the whole fast. I was just without energy Day 1 and lying down most of Day two. I got tired of not being able to think straight and at dinner I just decided to eat butter+++. I had never heard of fat fasting, though we joked that I was on one. After a little I was back to normal. My daughter stopped fasting after 2 days but the pain in her legs only went away after she ate more fat. This all makes so much sense after listening to this video.

But I have prostate issues (I'm 73), I have somewhat low volume of urine but main issue is minor dampness in my underwear so I must wear plastic undies over top of my regular undies to eliminate possible odor from urine leak. I've always craved butter. Especially when I ate bread etc. I've been eating this carnivore diet for about a month now. I started with boiled eggs and butter but lately its been poached eggs (much softer and tastier) and with those I have a good 2 inch slice from my block of butter. I may have a slice of beef or two with that. Then nothing until my last meal. Tonight I craved chicken so had a VERY small portion with 2 inch slice of butter (Anchor butter) then I was so hungry still so had a few slices of cheese and eventually became satisfied. I'm eating an apple every other day as I crave something fresh and clean to eat. But with that apple I have a little mayo. It's funny because when I was on a standard diet I would cheat with chocolate or crisps etc. Now when I cheat, its with a marks and Spencer layered chicken and bacon salad (still not perfect but a world away from the shit I was eating) Anyway I have lost weight but don't weigh myself at all. I just go by my jeans which look a bit baggy ŕcently. Which is good enough for me. I don't think weight was really my first goal with carnivore .. I think it was more wellness. I've noticed I'm much more loving and forgiving since going animal based. I'm also less offended by idiots . I used to be so highly strung when I was vegetarian. I'm suffering a cold for the first time too since changing diet and although my throat hurts, I don't feel body aches like I normally would .. nor do I feel wiped out and unwell like when I was veggie. I'd love some advice about electrolytes if anyone has any? I have a hunch they are important to my wellness but in the UK, I'm not sure what to get or where to get them?!?

I know 64 is late in the game but I can’t change that. I have to do this. I feel like I am on a rescue mission for myself!

Just ate my mince and butter lunch... I also have to say, my "stress, anxiety, depression" levels have VERY much reduced since eating 97% carnivore for the last three months, I am a lot calmer. Fat calms the stressed beast,,,, :D

Great! I feel like I’m addicted to these brown butter bites as well, it’s so good 🥹 I just made them and already ate 4/8 icecubes of it next to my breakfast since it’s just so delicious 🤦🏼♀️

Such a good discussion and thank you for addressing a few men’s issues. Dr. Bright and Emily both mentioned using large amounts of iodine to treat enlarged prostate. Is there a recommended protocol?
@YeshuaKingMessiah
Жыл бұрын
Dr Bright uses 5% iodine drops 2 drops daily She says don’t need a protocol rly That’s for ppl eating carbs, on carni all the supplements etc just don’t come into play-no need

Her basic recommendation is 2 drops of 5% daily. That's not to heal an issue. That's just her basic recommendation.

Hi! Thank you for this video! I’m 3 weeks carnivore, and I’ve started implementing kefir into my daily diet. I drink it before a meal and before bed and I absolutely love it. Almost like my body craves it. What are your thoughts on consuming kefir?

Milk Kefir took away all my inflammation in my back, hips, knees. And that was before carnivore. I continue to make my own and drink a cup every morning.

So just so I'm clear, fat fasting is only consuming fat for a period of days, correct? I was a bit lost. I am carnivore and have done water only fasts in the past. Consuming only fat for a period of days seems like a breeze compared to water only!

Bella, can you address the problem with fat digestion? I love the idea of doing high fat but many have issues with the fat digestion 🙏🏻

As someone with a biology and healthcare background I so absolutely appreciate and value dr Brights addition to the carnivore community. I always want to understand the how behind what (obviously) works.

I have called a couple meat stores or departments. No one is saying that they have fat trimmings available. Any helpful hints for finding fat trimmings?

Thanks for the Info! When asked “what about people who hold onto the fat?” And she said some people with thyroid issues and low cortisol can be the case, so what is the solution? I do have low thyroid, hashimotos, and low cortisol. So what is the suggestion for people like that?
@jeng9942

What can you do if your cortisol is almost non existent in the morning? My doctor said “I’m surprised you can even function” when he read my saliva test results.

she said it quickly, but Dr Bright claimed adding dietary fat will address that issue too. Low cortisol is as bad for you, she indicated, as high.
