I know the numbers are unacceptably high. It dates back to segregation when blacks were not allowed to swim in public pools and so they weren't given the opportunity to learn and it's just tragic that some years ago now, 6 black teenagers died in a La river after getting into water too deep and drowning because they couldn't swim while their horrified families looked on. None of the nearby adults could swim either. Devastating! I hope that there has been a concerted effort in communities to provide all our children the opportunity to learn how to swim. Can you really call story #2 a "freak accident"?! I mean, come on, what did she think was gunna happen? She was gunna get her dog free from the alligator and the alligator would just lose interest and swim away? She could free her dog and swim away faster than the alligator could? She had to have known that she was risking her life trying to free her dog! And look, I get it, I know it would be so unbelievably shitty and hard to watch your dog get eaten by an alligator while you're forced to watch and can't realistically do anything to help, however if you're not my child I'm not fighting an alligator for you, it's literally a death sentence.

I'll never forget being on holiday at a dam once, and looking out over this small barrier which separated the platform on which I was standing from the little shore of the dam, enjoying the beautiful scene, and then looking down and seeing three crocodiles right at the base of the barrier, watching me. I raised my furbaby and I couldn’t imagine his last bit of life is being eaten alive by something so terrifying to anyone especially them knowing his mama is right there and didn’t do anything to help him? Nope. I ran into TWO burning buildings to save cats that weren’t even mine and if I didn’t those kitties wouldn’t have survived. The first was my dads cat when I was a teen and the second was my moms cat the hotel they lived at was burning down and he was forgotten in their room but because I worked there I knew a way in that the firefighters didn’t have blocked off and I went and got him cause not on my watch! It's great that people love their animals but you're right. Some people care for them more than people. It's crazy

I have a daughter and my dogs are still my babies. They love unconditionally and even though it’s stupid, I would have done the same thing. Without even thinking I would have tried to save them.

The second story should be in Aesop's fables. The Tale of the Kind Woman and the Ungrateful Dog. Later the womans bereaved boyfriend gathers up the dog and leave the tragic scene. "where we going asks the dog?" " to the pound" and as pulls up to the front a family asks about the dog and his history. the boyfriend says you dont want this one, Hes a biter".

I don’t know which would be worse,… being attacked by a huge alligator or a huge white shark???? Both just as frightening I suppose? It’s bewildering that I’m still alive and many people/friends too, because we swam in the oceans and some pretty murky swamp type waters. These poor people that get attacked by any of these wild killing predators and eaten alive (or nearly) have to be some of the unluckiest people on Planet Earth.💔

I live in Florida and would NEVER get in the water.. just because you make it without being attacked even for years doesn't mean it won't happen one day. If there's a possibility a gator or croc is in that water I'm not getting in..simple as that. I'd have to say though being attacked by a croc is probably worse but yeah both would be horrible.

Cassandra should have never have tried to saved the dog that went into crocodile infested waters. Animals will be animals regardless of being domestic. The dog saw or smelled something near the water. She knew that her dog was in crocodile infested waters and yet she tried to save her dog just to lose hers was one of the dumbest choice she had made. Now, the dog lives not knowing why it was living to begin with or what happened to it. I feel sad for the family for losing a wonderful lady but not sorry for Cassandra’s poor choice. Her life was more important than the dog’s life. You can replace dogs not human beings.

In my opinion she didn't make a fatal mistake, she committed suicide knowing that gators were in the water, and she chose to walk her dog near the water 🌊🏖️💦. Humans think they are invisible, and do some of the dumbest things. She caused her own death 🖊️☠️💀. I guess, I will never understand why people do what they do. It's not the animals fault it's humans stupidity they are doing what they know too do. You don't catch us messing around with wild animals like gators, crocodile, sharks, and bear's because we love ourselves not to prove anything to anyone 😭❣️❤️. We may do some dumb things, but getting killed by dangerous animals are not one of them. I can't wrap my head 😞🗣️ around these killings.

While I agree that u shouldn't be walking near water that has gators in it.. you're victim blaming and that's just heartless. She's dead.. and you're just rubbing salt in her wound after the fact. She made a fatal mistake.. u can't just say rest in peace and move on? U gotta go on about how stupid she was? Get a heart

Your commentary of the step by step deaths is ridiculous. You know nothing more than any of us know how it went down.

So what? You want for videos to last for 2 minutes max where the author can only say that a man died due to the animal attack? Go watch news then
