Edney Richardson Joined the 6th Queensland Imperial Bushmen as a skilled shooter and keen horseman. He saw action in 1901 and was ultimately wounded in an engagement against entrenched Boers firing a Maxim 37mm 'Pom Pom' gun. He was Invalided back to Australia where he cherished and cared for the trophy rifle, that he personally captured from a Boer, for many years.
