This presentation describes the differences between programming serial eeprom parts in two different environments; out-of-circuit (unsoldered) and in-circuit (soldered to the circuit assembly). The eeprom part pin functions are describes along with voltage and logic levels. Also described are the challenges of successful in-circuit programming and the reasons that the in-circuit environment is different.
