Appreciate the high quality and transparent review of a product! It’s the little details that make for overall experience (for better or for worse). Thanks for doing that. Gives you even more credibility.

The handle wiggles because it is a Vibration Dampener - orthopedic injuries from long-term exposure to vibration can be devastating (and a huge corporate liability). It would probably be helpful if the company explicitly stated that the handle was intended to dampen vibration, but they probably don't want to call attention to the vibration issue (which is common to ALL string trimmers).

Great review. Enjoyed it a lot. I have a Craftsman 34cc 4-stroke Weed Wacker. I found it really very unreliable year-to-year. Had to replace the carb & fuel lines twice - having to tune it each time because the carbs never work right out of the box. Recently bought one of these (ST1521S), and find it has all the power of that Craftsman with far less hassle, smell, noise and vibration. So far really happy with it and ready to send the Craftsman to the dump. The only gripe I have is no Hi/Lo speed switch. Variable speed trigger is nice, but the rev range is only 4000-5800 rpm and holding the trigger steady for low speed is tedious. Beyond that though I can overlook the speed switch since being a 2019 model you can get these at a really good price lately.

It would probably work for a while but then stretch out over time and fall off. It’s tolerable for now and the rest of it is comfortable - but that’s a good idea, thanks for commenting!
