Join me as we hike Elephant Hills in the greater Aberdare Ranges in Kenya. Elephant Hills are located next to Mount Kinangop near Njabini town, 74Km from Nairobi. This is indeed one of the toughest day hikes you can attempt in Kenya with a total elevation gain of over 950M and distance of 24Km.
Difficulty: Moderate to Extreme
What you need:
1. Kenya Forest Service entry fee of KES 530 per person.
2. Carry enough drinking water, two liters is ideal.
3. Snacks.
4. Raincoats and comfy hiking boots or waterproof shoes, the ground can be soggy.
5. Any sound car will do. The entire road is tarmacked and is currently under maintenance.
