I love this channel and I'm happy I found it. Is there somewhere online where I can play around with the original map you were using to see where different parts of the country lie in elevation? Also, if I may suggest, maybe try avoiding the lick-lipping in between words/phrases? Can be a bit distracting

Subscribed on the basis of this introduction to hypsometry alone! Highly impressive! Tinting may have fallen out of favour here on earth, but it has seen a revival elsewhere with increased accuracy of radar altimetry, especially on Mars.

Mt. Whitney was surveyed back in the 1930's at 14,494.8 or 14,495. More recent surveys show it at 14,505. The map of the 8,000 feet plus shows the Sierra Nevada quite prominently. I live 168 feet lower than 8,000 feet in a small town on the eastern side of the Sierra Nevada and have hiked extensively in many parts of the range. I found this video very interesting.
