People would call board flipping and massacre mission exploiting. I call it playing the game in a way that the game mechanics allow.
@DrKaii
7 жыл бұрын
I don't think you even need to go there. It's very possible that programmatic errors or difficulties can lead to "exploits" which are ways of getting more out of the game than the developers wanted you to be able to. I agree with that theory and I have spoken out against examples of this. I just don't think this is an exploit, Frontier have never said this is unwanted (although one dev did hint something about it not being possible to "fix" which might imply it's a problem, but he was just answering a question), and it's not non-sensical in the way it works (working for multiple interested parties within a government who want to encourage mercenaries to win wars is something any clever mercenary would do), and it's not EASY either. It's VERY hard. And I strongly believe payout should be proportional to effort.

You people (Freeloaders) make me sick. Go ahead, sit there for hours, stack missions, flip the board, make your billions...You call that playing? Using game mechanics? Oh, it's allowed, sry. And yeah, let's not call that an exploit god forbid that wouldn't look good on your resume ...The rest of us who played the game as intended, who put the time and efforts can guess who you losers are in the game. You are gonna need your "hard earn" credits for the REBUY SCREEN...the mechanics also allow us to shoot you on sight. You don't deserve to rank up and have access to ships like Vettes and Cutters and you have no business living in Shinrarta.

I don't hate nor wish ill on anyone playing the game their way as long as it's not game breaking so why should you? in all honesty WE NEED as many camanders out there having fun playing the game we love so chill out on all the hate bro. but with all that said I wish you GOOD HUNTING!! cuz that's the way you play the game and have every right to do so 😎

+Dr. Kaii dude, my comment was mostly in reply to Jacob Side and the like. I know you are dedicated to Elite and I respect your work as an explorer and your contributions to that game ie: ED profiler etc...CZ missions are ok UNLIKE killing skimmers that count as ships. However, the stacking via cycling??..the game has flaws and some of those things weren't intended by the devs. It just gets to me when I see all those noobs & freeloaders who don't have time to play the game, thirsty for an easy way out. Should everyone be a billionaire, an Elite and pocess the best ships in the game with no time and efforts? Do all these guys lack the sense of achievement? Anyway, that was my rant and my take. As far as me try and go after you..well, be careful what you wish for...While you spent your time exploring I spent my time PvPing ;) That being said, you ain't a target. I am a bounty hunter, mercenary, equalizer in the game so, unless you are wanted, a griefer or be at the wrong place at a wrong time with the wrong people, you won't have to worry about me;)

I did this without wingmen but it's slower. Started in a vulture and found I had to hang around the fringes of the fight. I'd wait until the closest enemies were committed in a fight with one of my NPC allies and I'd swoop in and engage the enemy when it's already damaged. My vulture was pretty squishy so I had to turn and run quite often but after about a day of hard slog (and a couple of deaths but that doesn't reset the missions thank god) I made enough to upgrade to an A spec Python. A different system at war and two days later I have a near A spec Anaconda. The Python and Anaconda I've not died in but I still have to run away if I get attacked by too many enemies. So you can still make a huge amount of money but maybe not $1Bn in a week, maybe just $500M. Still pretty good!

Hey, what are the start up costs of this? I'm a new player. Also, how are your missions giving so many credits? Is it your combat rank? Or is it your reputation with a faction? Ive seen people get huge bounties of Nav beacons but I only ever get 50k every big ship or less for the little ones. Is that based on your combat rank?
@DrKaii

Start up cost is the price of a decent Vulture - I'd say 15-20 million. Otherwise take a more experienced player and hope for the best! The huge payouts is due to the Allied status with the faction giving the missions

If you aren't in a hurry, skip the Vulture and work your way up to a Python and use it for CZ and trade. The Python has a squishy power distributor and limited power plant so I'd suggest upgrading in this order: FSD>Distributor>Power Plant>Shields. Once you get it all with A rated gear it becomes an extremely versatile ship that is capable of handling many scenarios... including CZs! However, there is no substitute for good, reliable wing mates! If you are in a hurry, go with the Vulture and form a wing of destruction.

Honestly, combat is just for fun. The quickest, most reliable way to make money in the game is trading. Yeah, it's not sexy like being a fighter pilot. But it's so easy. Go on EDDB, find the right route, and you are making 25-30,000cr per ton easily in just a couple hops. I can pull down over 20 mil in a single trip. No worries about rebuys or restocking ammo, straight profit. Do 5-6 trips per session and finish with 100 mil more in the bank than when I started. Then do all my bounty hunting and mission running for fun the rest of the session.
@vincentkrommenhoek7431

My grind: get the Sol permit and pick up boom data delivery missions. A lot of them go to a few systems so refresh and stack till you have 20 missions to 2 systems. The higher your rep gets in sol, the mission payout grows. Eventually you get boom data missions to Hutton Orbital in Alpha Centauri which have an average payout of 3m per mission. However, this is very boring since you have to travel 6.7 million ls to Hutton. But... you can earn 60 million per trip which takes about 1,5 hours to complete. And you grind your Federation rank to get the Corvette. I made 4 billion in a few weeks.
@riderlansing3010

I get 1 billion every 4 days mining void opals.... then again I love deep core mining, I use a Krait Mkll with mining setup: all cargo no guns but the 2 necessary ones(mining drill gun and the explosive charges gun) grab some mining limpets as well and a "mining furnace"?(not the correct name)... cant remember the name but its a thing to purify minerals and get neatly placed in your cargo. Once you finish scanning for an ice ringed planet and spot a void opal hot spot you descend into it and pirates will appear but will do nothing to you cuz you got nothing but limpets in your cargo: all you need to do is fly about 100km off the center point "void opal hot spot" and stay away from that perimeter, scan for opals and you will be golden, no one will bother you....that is until you decide to supper-cruise so you'd better be ready to jank that joystick towards the escape vector when that happens, I haven't been pulled out of supper-cruise once and I'm not particularly good at it(I suck at combat) so its not hard to escape those: just make sure you have a set destination and go straight to it, my recommendation is to use INARA and search for a void opal vendor near your systems that has got demand of them and you sell there... and that's pretty much it... happy money hunting commanders ;3

I made 1.5 billion credits in roughly a week while grinding my federation navy ranks. I did it by running gold in Sol while collecting missions to Hutton Orbital. It can be boring, but making 50+ million per trip makes it worth the effort. The gold running just keeps it as profitable as possible, but requires a large initial investment (buying the gold) and isn't necessary for the Hutton mission stacking

Finding the right system and grinding reputation are certainly frustrating. After moving systems recently I wondered why I can't just spend a few days identifying perfect systems that perhaps aren't at war/civil war but are IDEAL for grinding the missions. Max rep on the factions I'd want to support and eventually when they DO go to war/civil war... jump in and start pumping out massacre missions in the CZs. With that in mind, anyone want to share ideal systems that aren't at war atm?
@mhan6601

I have a spot where I can make a butt ton of money. One of the sub factions is completely fucked. I could use a bigger ship when i'm attacked by NPCs for bounties, else I just afk a week and do other things then I go back. I have to do all the missions though seperately, but it was still about 30m-40m for the hour if I was lucky on stacking the best paying missions.
@darkner7769

Another method, slightly less profitable but far less risky, is to do the same but with skimmer destruction missions. You don't need systems at war and you don't need wingmen. You only need a SRV. You stack up the missions as well and maybe you won't get a billion in a week, but around 6-700 mil for sure. I bought and outfitted my corvette doing this.

Thank you for sharing, while I may be Elite, I by no means have the angle on every part of the game, and this was a big learning area for me ! I will try it soon... My only big beef with the game so far is that there is no good mass surface strip mining method. Getting all those rare elements and not so rares is such a miserable and unrealistic grind... In reality, from a mining engineering standpoint, one would skim planet surfaces, and scan for large ore pockets. That is how elements really exist. They have made a ridiculous and truly unrealistic grind out of what should be a rewarding experience, and especially so on pristine metal worlds ! That is why pointers like yours are so valuable... They can literally save the game for many people !

i heard on their q and a they may be taking the skimmers off the kill table for these missions. also, they will likely be cracking down on people who are using task manager to combat log their ship. i have been able to solo this rather easily by using a viper mk3 with souped up dirty drive tuned thrusters and 4x size 1 fixed missile launchers. Apparently you don't need this much to succeed, but the extra speed keeps it efficient and allows you to run away from the guardian ships that often spawn. fly to surface, fire 2 missiles as the skimmers spawn, fly away at a 60 degree angle, boosting to initiate fsd (no throttle), hold pitch up to re-enter normal space, keep holding pitch up and boost to finish your loop and fly back down to the target base and do it all again. i usually won't take missions under 1 million credits because I'm in it until 96 kills anyways. my record so far is making 60m in 45 minutes (time which included starting and loading the game and repairing once bc my hdd is failing slowly ).

One thing I noticed in all videos like this is that the creator does not explain how much reputation you need to already have with these minor factions to even get to this point where you can get all the missions. Do I have to be allied? cordial? Friendly? If I'm not even cordial with the minor faction of the system I find, can I still make a lot of money doing this? Thanks for your time.

Young Chan Bae You can get missions even if you're not allied. Do those and you'll be cordial. The more you do, the better friends you'll become and the better missions you'll get. +Dr. Kaii, Been looking into Elite Dangerous the last few days. I have a few basic questions because real life gets in the way of my gaming. I work full time, have two small kids, and everything that goes into work/kids etc. I am trying to determine if I should get the game. 1. Is it a pick up and set down game? Basically can I hit a conceptual pause button because of [insert thing I have to do]? - you know, honey put the clothes in the dryer, son stop playing with fire, kids stop fighting, bath time! etc. 2. How long does a usual play session last? Can I have fun with 15-30 minutes or do I need to plan an one hour to three hour chunk of time to feel I got something done? I can hit pause playing Madden or go AFK in other games. 3. I play Arma 3, Star Citizen, PS4 fps games etc. How does it compare to console and Star Citizen? Do you play other games and still feel fulfilled or do you concentrate on Elite? 4. Do you feel the game is a 3-6 month experience or something you can play the next 3-5 years for a sustained length of time? Appreciate the time to answer. Good video, format, and presentation. Well thought out. Kudos!

Quidium , you can put it down if you are called but when in combat or in danger you have to either get out before being able to log out or go to the log out screen and wait 15 seconds in which you could get destroyed, but if you're trading it's fine. Session wise, you could just do small trading runs or go bounty hunting and stop whenever. It's a pretty fun game but the bigger ships can require grinding, but if you take it slow and casually it's fine, smaller ships can be very enjoyable too.

snakegamer Vulture is one of my favorite ships. Best bang for your buck RES hunter out there. In a CZ, you'll have to be quick and make sure you keep your Shields up with good pip management. As for going over your limit, if you look over to your right panel, you'll see your modules tab. The priority numbers are what you need. You're basically deciding which modules are more important to keep powered. Lower your Cargo Scoop, FSD, and maybe your fuel scoop to a lower priority and you'll be fine. You don't need them when you're fighting and you can't jump with them out anyway. Once you put your weapons away, they'll come back online automatically(slight delay). And they're not going to nerf these missions. You're good to go. I did a round of like 15 missions last week and bought and started speccing out an Anaconda to test. Hope that helps. Fly safe CMDR.

Hello ! Thanks for that video ! I try to reproduce it but I can't find propices systems. I searched for 3 hours now, visited unexplored systems and all that I already have data and scans, but can't find recent war stats with 3% like you said on your video and with Military economy. Can you share your systems where all conditions are met? THANKS :)

Depends on how determined you are to see this through, and how much time you will be taking. If you do it right, and see it through, you'll earn a few hundred million per civil war and make enough money to rebuy the Asp surely

Dr. Kaii, that was fast. And me and my friends should have enough dedication and time. We may not do what you did in the video exactly but I hope it will work out. Regards, Human

This is a good guide for someone who's already established but I've only been playing for a few days and I've worked my way up to a viper iv but I'm still struggling and I really wish there was a way to hire npc wingmen without having the larger ships.
@DrKaii

Don't fret, someone who's just started isn't going to be earning a billion in a week and that's ok. I've got other guides on how newbies could make money, and there are even more out there. You need to get to around the 20 million mark, which you could easily do in a week, and then you can do this

Dr. Kaii thanks, I learned a bit more after watching some of your first vids. Now I've been trying to target subsystems to do the most amount of damage. I accidentally hit the hotkey combination for targeting subsystems but I never knew what that meant and how you could do more damage and even cripple ships. Now my problem is mainly raising my dps so I can take down some of these deadlier ships before they get away or blow up my ship.

If you can find a wingman in a Python or a couple more Asps that are outfitted for combat you'll do just fine. I used an AspX with a wingmate in a Python and we did great!

Is there a limit on how many missions you can stack? I can only seem to get 3 and then nothing! Cheers! :)
@Kaldurahm1
7 жыл бұрын
AiR HawKz I believe the limit is 20. You are going to want to log out to the main menu and go to open or closed or private group depending on what you're already on. The missions will be different. You can stack that way

I know Dr. Kaii does his research. Can anyone explain how important the military economy is? I know I've found some successful systems which were not military economies. I figured finding good systems was more based on higher population systems paying more. But now I'm really curious about the economy types. Can anyone provide more evidence?
@SuperibyP
7 жыл бұрын
Evan Moss I can't provide evidence for this, but I believe the missions are given out in far greater quantities in military systems.

Seems to be the consensus backed up by my experience (military economies produce more combat missions)

Just one question: if one of your wingman kill a bad guy, does it count as a kill for your own mission or you need to shoot the baddy by yourself at leat once?
@Xalos369
7 жыл бұрын
You have to damage the target at least once and in MOST cases, you must be within 3 KM of the target when it pops to recieve credit for the kill. So... hit the target at least once and damage the shields or hull, then stay within 3 KM.

So what's the point of no. 3, the military economy? Do they just give more massacre missions in general, or what?
@DrKaii

More massacre missions because they give more combat missions in general
@piperwalton
7 жыл бұрын
Dr. Kaii Ah, that makes sense. I've had a hard time finding any stations with military economies so far; I've found a few war systems with military economies, but not so much stations. It often seems to be planetary bases with those economies, for whatever reason.

@DrKaii
7 жыл бұрын
You can't do missions for two factions at once, but a) I was testing the system just to learn more about if there are ways to get more massacre missions (I do all my research for you, my beloved youtube viewer), and b) you take a mission and then the opposing faction will very often offer you double the reward to fight for them instead
