UPDATE: I accidentally left an 11.1v lipo battery in this rifle for a month, and the battery is dead and now something is seriously wrong with the wiring, causing arcs any time I try to plug in a battery. This is an unacceptable failure and potentially a safety hazard. Yes, it was dumb to leave a battery plugged in to an AEG while not in use, but the resulting damage to the battery and the AEG is unacceptable!

Since Evike, EMG, and ARES are involved it's tough to know who to contact... I suppose any of the three could take some initiative and responsibility and help resolve the issue.

@@tacticalmost please update for future owners looking for similar issues! I just got mine from a recent mystery box as my starter gun so any new information on maintenance of this gun would be greatly appreciated here

@@wote2760 congrats on the mystery box! Just always make sure to unplug your battery by the end of the day. I'd also suggest turning the hopup off (as that's a good standard operating procedure for long-term storage and maintenance) but that's extremely difficult on this replica so I don't even do that. As far as I know the only risk is that your hopup bucking kindof "sets" in a hopped position but that's probably fine.

Surprisingly this gun actually turned out to be the best dmr I have ever built by a long shot. Effective range with 0.4g BBs is literally a measured 290-300 feet... On a target that is smaller than a person. Did take a lot of time and patience to get it working just right, but the end result made it 100% worth it. If you decide to turn it in to a dmr just make sure to mark the hop wheel so you know where to set it each time, because it is kind of a pain to adjust.

That's great! Yeah, marking the hop wheel sounds like a smart idea! As per my pinned comment, my RDB is still out of commission with fried wires. I may attempt to HPA it and make some crucial tweaks like you mention in the near future...

@@tacticalmost thanks so much! I bet it would have a lot of potential as an hpa platform especially if you plan on doing anything long range. Sorry to hear that it’s still fried :/ I hope it’s back in action again soon!

If I can get diagnosed with that airsoft illness, maybe the government can help pay for it. Good video. Hope to see an aftermarket for this.

The fix for the job up annoyance is too take the front two screws out of the plastic guard above the hop up . The guard will stay in place just fine but it will allow it to tilt up. Then cut or drill a 5/8 inch hole in the side beside the hop up wheel. You can then adjust it on the fly while shooting bbs.

I think Evike has a video on the RDB, they show some detailed disassembly in that video. (Sorry for the late response!)

How did you access the hopup clip that attaches the hopup to the barrel? There was a black piece around the barrel and hopup when i took mine apart and i have no idea how to get it off!

Is it possible to fit straight AR-10 mags? I like the RDB, but I definitely prefer the RFB in .308
@tacticalmost

I think it would require significant modification. A bit of material carved out to the rear of the magazine (and I'm not sure what electronics / gearbox components might be back there) and then a new magazine release would probably be necessary. Possibly more feasible if you put a HPA engine in it, just so chunks of the gearbox could be removed if necessary. It'd be a tricky project for sure.
