Testing the 55gr, 62gr, and 75gr ammo to see the effect on proper gas system adjustment on KelTec RDB AmbGun KelTec RDB www.ambgun.com/ambidextral-ri...
Great vid! So far with the 20" version I'm just over 1000 rounds without a malfunction (gas is set to 4-5 notches below max for 55-69gr).

Glad it was helpful. A video update on the Hellion is forthcoming that will highlight the problems with its gas system having only two settings. www.ambgun.com/ambidextral-rifle/hellion

Thanks! I'd have been happy to be the best KZitemr advocating ambidextrous shooting of the RDB...or at least top ten.

Got some handgun stuff in the pipeline, but I'll be returning to the RDB soon. In a few months Version 4 of "The Ambidextral Gunfighter" will have more on handguns and will feature the RDB. Unfortunately the RDB videos haven't had the traffic that as handgun videos. Kind of surprised. www.ambgun.com

I plan on doing some more gas stuff testing. I suspect that if I turn it all the way in, that it won't cycle at all...might be useful if I don't want to leave brass behind.

Thanks so much for the great videos! I know you haven't been getting the traffic you expected, but the ones who watch love the content! When you use the terminology "in" and "backing it out" does that mean increasing the gas setting opens up the valve (backing it out) and when the gas adjustment is "in"all the way it closed off virtually gas being redirected? Also I assume the + on the RBD means more gas and the - means less gas

Turning "in" is delivering more gas, "backing out" is reducing the gas. As you back it out you reach the point where the rifle stops cycling (or locking back on an empty mag). Adjusting the RDB gas system is real easy. Turn the adjustment knob all the way in (clockwise) until it bottoms out. Back it out counterclockwise 10 clicks. Insert mag with one round, fire. If bolt locks back on empty, back off two more clicks until bolt fails to lock back. At this point turn the adjustment back in clockwise 4 clicks for reliable operation. Turning it in more clicks it will continue to cycle but more harshly...if action got very dirty, you could click a couple clicks in clockwise to force it to cycle. I really like the accessibility of the RDB's adjustment knob (compared to the Desert Tech MDR).

Yeah the traffic has been disappointing. Last year, traffic and subscribers were rising exponentially and then suddenly plateaued...coincidentally with two videos highly critical of CCP Chinese products. Also at about the same time I expanded heavily in alternative streaming platforms (Brighteon, BitChute, and, later, Rumble), so I'm not sure if I was oppressed or it was just the dilution of exposure.

@@AmbGun I never hesitate to reach out as I know you'll respond promptly and thoroughly! And today was no different! To be totally blunt I don't see a difference in quality between your videos and the videos of other KZitemrs who have a massive following. You edit videos well and never leave me saying "just get on with it already" if you noticed a significant drop-off and viewership... I doubt it's a coincidence. Especially in modern times when we're plagued by cyber censorship (coined that term myself) thanks!!!!

That's a pretty big difference from my 8-9 setting. I wonder if there's been an update to the gas block since my testing. Your setting leaves you a lot more room to accommodate a suppressor.

@@AmbGun no doubt bizarre. And unrelated but today at the range after 80-100 rounds firing pin didn’t hit primer but the slug got pushed into the cartridge. Very strange. I kept it after keeping in the nearby pond for hours. I’m not active on social media but would love to share the pic of the cartridge.

@@brutus007 I would like to see that. If you could email it to rifleman@ambgun.com I will post it on the RDB page on www.ambgun.com.

It seems to me like you did it wrong. If you started at 10 from bottom if you ad more clicks your adding more gas which the bolt should always lock back. If you start with 10 you turn clicks towards bottom to take out gas then the bolt wouldn't lock back once you took to much gas out. I have a rdb mine is at about 14 clicks
