She's a brilliant public speaker - simply brilliant. Amazing to be so talented and self-assured and articulate at such a young age. I know you disagree with her. She's not necessarily right - but you have to admire talent when you see it. She has it in spades. I also think she's right, but respect that thoughtful people disagree. She hasn't said ban all guns - she's offered very few specific actions (rapid fire, high capacity, high powered rifle ban) - and mostly seeks to motivate towards meaningful action.

Takes guns to take away guns. Hope you like having a police state and losing your civil liberties. Don't forget you are asking the same government mechanism that repeatedly and massively failed to stop the shooter, while local LE's stayed outside the school when the shooting began. BTW, you going to encourage all students to throw away all their shooter video games? Can't be against gun violence and still be ok with video games that use guns.

If you raise your children right, no video game, no movie, no song and no gun will make your children murderers. I grew up listening to gangster rap, watching war and western movies playing video games with guns and there was a gun handy in my house, but i never used tht gun as a toy or as a way to fix my problems. Education and real control could fix this.
@blank557

@blank557
6 жыл бұрын
makaveli perez "Education and real control could fix this" Education has not stopped bullying, gangs, teenage pregnancy or drug abuse, has it? The "Real control" you advocate aligns with my original post that only a police state with the removal of our civil rights will make a difference --Is that the price you are willing to pay? Do you really trust our government not to abuse having that much power, to keep us safe from one another? Did not the government system from the Sheriff's office, The schools, and the FBI, all failed multiple times to stop the shooter beforehand? What makes you think any more "control" will make a difference in the future? You are begging for a dictator to make the trains run on time, and don't care what rights you will lose to get that to happen. My point still stands. If these students are going to protest so strenuously against guns, then they have to walk the talk by abhorring ANY form of gun violence as entertaining, as presented in video games and movies. They cannot on one hand demand new gun laws and grieve about their fellow students being murdered by a shooter with a assault rifle, then go home and play COD and digitally shoot people with the same kind or similar military assault rifles in multiplayer mode and exclaim gleefully "I got you!" It does not follow. It is hypocritical. Either you treat guns as a tool, or you hate them, ban them, and do not condone their use even as entertainment.

Do you actually know any kids? I am a teenager and I can vouch for the fact that none of the people on my school are glued to their phones. And why does it matter that their kids? Kids are the ones affected by this, we have a right to speak out about it. If adults were protesting would you be out there? Of the answer is yes then you should be there with kids too
@Arma2iwillbuy
6 жыл бұрын
No you are not the ones affected by this anymore than the adults. This statement shows that you have no clue how dangerous guns are and propably didn't even look up one god damn statistic on that subject. You are basically making that point for him yourself. You kids are not one bit educated on the subject and want to change legislation. Thats why. Not because you are kids but because you don't know anything. And you are allowed to not knowing anything since you are kids and attend school to get educated on our society. With time comes experience or did you never ask yourself why you are not allowed to vote yet? School shootings are a minority of gun deaths, and even then rifles aren't the worst offenders. More school kids die by traffic accidents then guns. The whole point of "I don't feel safe in my school, cause guns" is ridiculous. Not because you don't feel that way but because reality just doesn't agree with it. The fact that you ignored all that and made this stilly comment just proved the point that you as kids still don't have the expertise to advocate for law changes.

as someone apart of the class of 2017, we aren't glued to our cellphones. like many of you think we are. Believe it or not, most of us have some standing in being Bilingual and being aware of what's going on around us. A capability one develops at LEAST by the age of four. Learn the systems we are brought up in, the advantages and disadvantages of the system and if it's corrupt, we work around them. We not only are required to learn about our basic rights in the bill of rights in the eighth grade, but then reminded to learn all the amendments in the constitution and the bill of rights AGAIN, our junior and senior years of high school. WE ARE AFFECTED BY MASS SHOOTINGS AND GUN VIOLENCE more than adults. Whether it's kids being brought up in inner city gangs or active shooters, until the country concert. All of the most reported about mass shootings have been at SCHOOLS. 96 school shootings so far in 2018. 96 people killed A DAY due to gun violence. My father served in the navy and we was definitely pro-guns at first. HOWEVER, when he realized we were not calling for a ban on all guns, but a ban on non mentally sound, ex military civilians being allowed to purchase and own semi automatic weapons, or the modifications to make a full automatic or semi automatic weapon, he agreed. I don't get what the deal is? You wanna shoot a semi automatic? go rent it out at the gun range. Wanna use it for hunting? rent it for a few days from gun range, have a tracker in it and sign a liability agreement and there you go. You can have none semi automatic and snipe based weapons. And still hold your right to bear arms. you can still own a gun. Just not a semi or full automatic.

The fact people are more worried about their guns going away then losing human lives is disgusting. Is the second amendment the most wrongly used and misunderstood amendment that important to you that you can't part with extreme fire arms? Were not even saying all guns need to go away, its that things like assault rifles should not be able to get into normal peoples hands this damn easily. How many people have to die to this senseless violence before you want to do something? Or will you change your mind if only someone you love dies to gun violence? What our government is doing now can't even be considered a band aid. Arming teachers with guns in hopes they could fend a shooter off is dangerous and could cause even more harm then good. And giving students buckets of rocks to pelt a shooter sounds more like a bad skit Family Guy would do. We have to make a stand and stop this madness rather then throwing a blanket over it and saying its fine.

This needs to stop now! Us kids of America are scared. We ask our teachers scary questions. What if we're in the bathroom? We put our feet up and that toilet flushes. What if we can't get into a classroom to safety? What if we're outside? What if there's a fire? These questions shouldn't even be thought. The elders in my family say they never heard anything like this, they didn't live in fear. What happend? Why do we have to be scared that it's gonna be our school next? Why do our parents have to worry about sending us to school? Why?

Are you really attacking me personally when you really don't know who I am? I often get comments for being a very kind, loving, and passionate human being. Debate with reason, not personal attacks. First off, Left wing liberals blame Trump for the lack of gun control and his affiliation with the NRA. Trump doesn't control the NRA. Secondly, Liberals also want to ban assault weapons. Why? The AR15 is not an assault weapon, it is an ARMALITE RIFLE used for sporting. Thirdly, Chicago has the strictest gun control laws yet it is one of the most dangerous cities in the United States. Laws don't do anything, they make things worse. On top of that black market sales will start to rise, inviting more illegal activity. If the ban of weapons manages to succeed, it will only invite more dangerous aspects of terror. People will start to manufacture homemade bombs which will have more longer lasting devastating effects. Lastly, Emma Gonzalez bullied Nikolas for years, but thinks that the act is justifiable, but it doesn't matter. The shooter Nikolas and the two nuisances to society named Emma and David are filth. I am not an American, I am French, and yet I seem to be more knowledgeable than these American kids who think that a simple march and protest will change anything.

But crime in America is increasing more and more. Though with this speech she didn't make any points and she actually did get paid for this speech which is self centered. There's not, just a bunch of communist talking points and emotional word play. No facts, no true statistics and no Truth. They want our guns it's that simple. And I'm sorry I can't take anyone who doesn't know the difference between a democracy and a constitutional republic serious when they talk about policy. Seeing how these kids act and the fact that they are being taught to base opinion off of emotions rather then facts leads me to agree that the legal voting age should be raised. Just my two cents.
