YES! I love thrifting in other towns and states too - it is always fun to see what different stuff there is in different places!

Congratulations on finishing your Acorn Trails! It looks great on you 😊. I’m so excited about the FRNC Club! I’ve never actually been part of a book club before. And don’t feel bad about your WIPs and WIP plans-I am same. At the end of the day, we’re still getting lots done, right? And loving it. 😉

Fun episode! Your Acorn cardigan is beautiful and all your projects are lovely. For me I can’t do more than 2 to 3 WIPs, otherwise I never get them done as fast as I want too. Love thrifting!! The book club sounds like fun and love Louisa Mae Alcott, may have to join ☺️

Couple ideas for your daughter's sweater: Knitty McPurly's Audrey sweater or the Felix Pullover ( I don't remember the designer). Both are knitted at a looser gauge and are a little cropped so they would help "stretch" your yardage of yarn.

How about the coloring book raglan by Aimee Sher? I think it uses worsted weight. I have made it and the fit is great! You could stripe in the purple.

Your acorn cardigan is beautiful! Thanks to your fluff your stash MAL, I am working on my WIP’s and am down to only three! I am so glad you are going to a podcast on your spinning. That was going to be my question for your Q & A. When I tried it once, it was a disaster! My question is how do you manage your homeschooling schedule and still find time to knit?

Yay! Finally have the chance to sit down and write up a comment. Your Acorn Trail cardigan is so beautiful! I really love it. Also, I am feeling the WIP pile up too! I started thinking about all the projects I have going, especially when I was moving them all, and I thought "woah. we need to get some things finished off!!" 😄 I had so many grand plans for participating in fluffing my stash. 🤦♀Maybe it should be an annual thing? 😁 Hooray for the book club! I'm so excited to start reading the book. Thank you so much for all your hard work organizing it. 🥰 And here are my questions for you: How did you and your husband meet? What is some advice you would tell your younger self as a beginning wife/mum? What is your most sentimental knitting project that has the fondest memories attached to it? And what is your favorite budget friendly yarn? 💕💛

haha yes, sometimes we need to take a breath and just finish a few things!! I DO think Fluffing is a good annual activity - it was relatively easy and fun to host. And, yes, I am SO excited about the book club. It is helping make my September so happy :)

How do you stay cool enough to knit or even just do housework in those temperatures? I live in NY & sometimes when we get up in the 90's I don't want to do a thing but at least it never stays warm like that for long up here. I can't imagine having temps of 111 & surviving! God Bless you all & I hope you get some rain soon.

Your seams are beautiful! 🏆🙌🤩 Did you mattress stitch them? 4-6 WIPs is my comfort zone, too. If I counted all the planned projects I’ve bought yarn for, I would feel extremely overwhelmed. The majority of my stash has plans.

Beautiful cardigan! I avoid seaming like the plague. 😂 Do you do mattress stitch or something else? We had the same dry brown grass almost all summer but finally got enough rain in the past few weeks to green things up again. We have also gotten air quality alerts off and on all summer due to the wildfires in Canada, I’m in Wisconsin. I’m sorry about your chickens. I have heard that our chickens deal with our extreme cold much better than heat. I hope you have a great homeschool year! We don’t start until after Labor Day. My last child will be a senior so this is my last year ever homeschool and it is a very bittersweet feeling.

It sounds like you are trying to convince yourself that it’s ok to have so many wips. Lol! I hope it is because I have at least that many and some quite old. I only give attention to 3 or 4 at a time, though, and I’m trying to finish 1 old thing for every new thing I start, because it would be sad not to start anything new until all the wips are done. I love the idea of the book club and this is one I haven’t read. I’ll send you an email. When will it start?

I almost never have more than three WIPs. That fourth or fifth wip is really a project I don't want to make after all and will bring me anxiety until I frog it/them. Your cardigan looks cute on you. What do you plan to wear it with?

How many stitches did you cast on for your 14-year-old daughter’s socks? I wear a 9 1/2 shoe, and I have been reluctant to try knitting socks for myself because I don’t trust standard knitting patterns to be big enough. As for having 20 WIPs, my recommendation would be to continue as you are. I have 20-odd WIPs, active and hibernating, and I select around 5 to work on each month. Eventually, they do get completed.
@texaspeachknits
11 ай бұрын
Thank you for your comment! I cast on 64 stitches on US 1.5 needles for her. If you wear a wide width shoe I would maybe go up to 68.
