Congratulation Roni, It is an excellent interview with Samy Gemayel, whom I love and respect for his strategy, as his brother Pierre. My only wish to have 125 MPs in the Parliament like Sheikh Samy to have Lebanon back to its past GLORY. WELL DONE

Congratulations, a great 'interview", I believe Sami is a genuine person. the most important thing he emphasized upon and that I totally agree with is "compromise", we have made enough compromises thru out the history of our country that lead us into the abyss we are in now. however the main problem we are facing with the Lebanese people as a whole is the fact that we don't listen to each other, we are so cooped up in our thoughts, believes and ideas that we are blocking our capability to listen to others. Again congratulations and good luck.

I have to say, this made me really reconsider this party as a whole and the concept of removing all the old political parties. I will be researching Kataeb to see how they have reformed. You are an excellent interviewer!

Congratulations Roni . This is the interview for me that establishes you as a master of your trade . The questions asked, the issues raised , the way you steered this conversation prove that we can as people address controversial subjects civily. I hesitated before playing , then I decided to go for it as a courtesy because up till now you never disappointed me . But I never thought I would watch it till the end . I was from the “how dare you “ 50%. But you proved us wrong and I am not sad to admit it . I was pleasantly surprised that he has accepted to carry the burden his party laid upon him during the war , that of a criminal party , and took that burden and turned it into something positive by learning from it . Old parties don’t understand that we are not on some sort of vendetta mission to eliminate them when we say kilon ya3ni kilon . We just want change .change in their strategies and behavior. It’s called reform. Still as he said we won’t judge words . We will certainly judge actions. My problem with kataeb is not the war . It’s exactly what he said . The compromises which his father had a good share of for the wrong reasons in the era after the assassination of Pierre . As kataeb didn’t fight itself , the failure of the 14 March movement didn’t result from wedding planners . They are all responsible for it also . I hope he stays true to what he said here and you are going to hold him accountable if not . Keep the good work and thank you for this .

I remember Pierre and Nicole playing in front of Mar Abda church b Bickfayya when they were around 5-7 years old... Lovely and smart kids. Nicole loved to chat. I have never met Sammy, but he's arguably one of the very few decent politicians in Lebanon. A close second is Ziad Baroud, but neither is a Bachir unfortunately.

He's been genuinely acting in the favor of true Lebanese citizens that dream of a stable, independent and prosperous Lebanon. However, and even after watching the interview we as new generation cannot disregard the fact that he leads Kataeb, a party with bad history (accused of murder, corruption etc...). The following would be my humble advice Mr Gemayel: Disconnect from Kataeb and start a new political party.

It's not that ez it's abt Family and Tradition but he's making reforms the original kateab were right wing fanatics, they were the Christian Phalango this guy is watering everything down in the kateab party

I don't buy the excuse that everyone was equally bad during the civil war. Sure, all militias committed war crimes, but the Kataeb committed so many massacres, Tel Al-Zaater, Black Saturday, Karantina, Ehden, Sabra and Shatila and I am sure I am forgetting several. Such a party should never be accepted by anyone.

Samy likes to depict himself as an uncompromising political figure. He tends to forget that he took part in a cabinet that was nominated in the wake of Ronnie chatah's father (Mohammed) assassination. Also he was backing frangieh until geagea pulled the rug under him and since then he keeps criticizing LF for backing Hezbollah's candidate. A final reminder: kataeb were the first ones to pull out of March 14th alliance

I wish the Lebanese can learn how to pronounce "people" correctly as "peepol" (in fact /ˈpiː.pəl/)... not "peepel" (/ˈpiː.pĕl/).
