Hi Kiwi Beeman! Thanks for the review, I like it. There was a bit of development since, and now all units are delivered with low voltage cut off, so it is switching off at 15,4V. That protects the battery.

Hi Frances. I sell to everyone with only one dispenser, and no battery included. Chris Fraser borrowed it from his friend, and did not have the right information.

Nice but spendy! However, I can see when one has a commercial operation, that this device could easily pay for itself. I use a 12VDC unit, which work fine for my small number of hives. Although, just for fun I' started working on a vaporizer heated via a propane torch. When (if) I get spare time, I need to work out a number of bugs. Cheers, Peter

Propane sounds like it has potential. Let us know if you get it working.

The inventor Jonas (last name I forgot) did an extensive interview video with Frederick Dunn on his channel recently, the main take away was the machine is programed to rapidly heat the oxalic acid to vaporization, but not over heat it, Jonas showed charts of his testing and research on his design that overheating OA turns into water, CO2 and Fomic acid which can damage or even kill queens. the video is very worth the watch

@@carlsledge3868 Thanks, good info. I wasn't aware of that. There was no mention of it in the info that came with it. But it is good to know.

@@carlsledge3868 Thank you for that information. A couple days ago my daughter (chemist) told me the same thing. So, I will stick with the 12v device I have, as it vaporizes the powder slowly and I can easily cool the container between applications. Also, I confirmed that the process works and am happy with that. Should I decide to increase the number of hives, I will certainly consider upgrading.

Did you ever check dropping of dead mites after this treatment? How effective is it and is even worth it?
@KiwiWildman

Hi, I don't use OA vaporisation much, the extended release OA strips are doing a great job of keeping the mite levels down in my hives. And no, I never measure mite drops. I rely 100% on doing mite tests regularly to monitor the levels of mites in my hives and to act quickly if they are getting too high. You only get a big mite drop if you let mite levels get high, my strategy is to never let that happen and it is working so far.....touch wood.

Did a hive 7 days after the first vaporisation and found 130 dead mites didn’t count them the first time as l didn’t have a screen board fitted.
