The weather has started getting colder her in Queensland and it takes a little extra effort to get up early and head offshore on the ski.
In this episode we hit the water a bit later than usual and head out to pick up some livies and see if we can pick up a Mahi or some Tusky.
The weather man predicted it a bit windy and a bit of a swell (1m) but when we get to Mooloolaba - it looks like a beautiful day. When we get offshore there are 2 and 3m swells with a cold and brisk wind.
With the weather like this we decide to head closer to the shore and fish and troll around the blinker at Mooloolaba.
The day was pretty quiet on the outgoing tide and even though most of the time on the water we had been riding instead of fishing - I wasn't far off calling it a day.
Greg then picked up a nice Sweetlip and I hooked up to a decent sized Spanish Mackerel - hat came in at 1.15m.
We were back to the ramp by about 11am with dinner sorted.
Unfortunately with the heavy swells and the weight of an extra 40L fuel tank at the front and Minn Kota - somehow water once again got into the ski. Pretty sure the bilge pump has gone so that will need to be fixed before the next episode.
