15:44 For now it's a fantastic way to generate clay for ceramic production. But if you want a future model (using steam turbines, aquatuners and radiant pipes/tiles) that will render the deodorizers and shine bugs unnecessary you could always superchill the polluted oxygen so it liquefies into regular oxygen which will kill the germs to boot.
@brianzmek7272

I mean...by the time you are late game enough to casually liquify po2 into LOX, aren't you going to be ravenously hungry for ceramic insulation? I guess if you plan to go all in on MASSS insulite production instead you wouldn't care about ceramic so much...
@TwistedMe13
5 ай бұрын
@@fractalgem Technically true, but I think you're seriously underestimating the ludicrous amount of ceramic that will be cranked out by that setup given the amount of sand available on that starting asteroid. By the time he gets his hands on supercoolant he could very have over a thousand tons of ceramic just sitting around unused.
@fractalgem
5 ай бұрын
@@TwistedMe13 hm. Lets see. A duplicany consumes 60 kg o2 per cycle. If it all comes from deodorized polluted o2, thats about 90 kg per cycle per dupe. Hes got a bit over 10 dupes, so... So this will produce roughly 1 ton per cycle with his current duplicant supply, assuming he doesn't have additional net sources or consumers of oxygen like voiding excess into space. So he MIGHT actually have enough clay to supply ceramic to all insulated tiles, depending on how fast he reaches the point of being able to casually liquify 02
@Tomfoolery1980

@fractalgem maths checks out but this doesn't account for the difference in difficulty. 120kg per cycleper dupe? I can't remember if it's +50% or +100% more

Great video and great editing as always ! To produce grubgrub, it's actually more efficient and better in almost every aspect to ranch sweetles (and not grubgrub) in this little grubfruit farm ! See my cycle 53 carnivore highest diff run for more info. Basically, the chance of laying a grubgrub eggs is CUMULATIVE with every tending and the sweetle have twice the egg rates . Even despite having half the life span, sweetles still produce overall more grubgrub per cycle than a grubgrub (in the same grubfruit rich environnment). Also, it's possible to starve ranch sweetle and have the population grow, but it's not enhancing the grubgrub production (per labor) as the cumulative effect is lost when the sweetle dies young but when out of sulfur, it still produce grubgrub (with an additonnal labor cost). Also, sweetle can still tende stiffled grubfruit from lack of sulfur, and they still produce grubrgub. That can be used when out of sulfur, or when you want to conserve sulfur and don't need the grubfruit. And those setups (ranching sweetle with grubfruit and starve ranching sweetle with grubfruit) are also the most efficient for meat production. 21:00 You should need 4.5 plant per grubgrub to optimize for buff uptime/fertilizer (water) comsumption, or 5-7 plant per grubgrub to optimise for sulfur comsumption.

Morb oxygen setup might not be the most efficient but it turns a decent ammout of sand into clay. Clay can be turned into ceramic which combined with the insane ammout of sand on this asteroid will make that resoirce much more accessible. Since ceramic is the second strongest insulator it can be used to improve all steam turbine setups such as Refineries, Volcano tamers and aquatuner setups to help you squeeze out every last bit of power. It works because stronger insulator makes less heat escape those setups through insulated walls and if it cannot escape then its more heat to be used by steam turbine. The improvement is small but in the grand scale it does make the difference.

i suggest you use the cold polluted water for oxygen. cool the oxygen by counterflowing it with the cold input of polluted water. this way the water heats up enough to not freeze in your pipes after filtering it and your base has cool oxygen. 2 problems solved at once
@Lightman0359
6 ай бұрын
You can probably re-jigger your cooling loop to use it to feed your farms directly. Instead of dumping the cleaned water into the tank, you can send that pipe directly into your farms, and sending the backed up warm water be sent to the aquatuner. This should conserve a little pump power [as you won't be pumping the water from 2 different pools] and eventually Aquatuner power, as the cold water from the vent will cycle with the aquatuner loop. So: from pump in your heat equalizer pool, straight into your base cooling loop, where you test if it is too hot [Above 24c I think is your setting] you send it to the seive, but let the sieve overflow into your aquatuner line, which in turn bridges back onto the cooling loop. Instead of going to the vent and into your storage pool, the sieved water can feed directly into the hydroponics tiles. This way the clean water pump isn't needed, the sieve only runs when the hydroponics tiles need water, the feed pump only runs when the system needs more water, and the cold slush shares the work with the aquatuner. If it works the Wat I am envisioning, it should reduce your power consumption.

So on the ridiculous. I once made a 6 chamber gass management. Only a 5x5 each. Most straight forward; oxygen, carbon dioxide, natural gas, chlorine, hydrogen, everything else. BUT then super freeze store it. Otherwise u reach the 20k per square cap. Plus helps stop gas explosions. I mean once u make liquid hydrogen the first time and 1kg regulate it u can solidify basicly everything else. Then supercoolent. P.s. one temp plate in the very center of each container will let the drops... opposite of sublimation. With rad pipe behind.

So i estimate youve got. between 900 watts and 3000 watts of solqt in this episode. Which might not SOUND like a lot of power, but consider: thats PURE power. Zero of it is reserved for producing its own fuel or cleaning up its byproducts. With 3 petroleum generators fed by ethanol youd be lucky to ONLY lose about 3kw of it to fuel production. In practice youll usually lose another kw or 2 to carbon skimming and keeping temps low enough to be sire the ethanol doesn't boil on you. Point is, whatever you're getting out of that "just solar" is worth more than i think you're treating it as.
