Will, it’s not the size that’s matters. It’s how you build it! 🤣

Very cool! I can barely see to work in 1/48 anymore but wow, that's some terrific mold work and splendid customer support. Rock that tiny Stang, and let's see it! (The RAF schemes are handsome and weather nicely, IMHO.)

What blows my mind is the quality in crispness and engineering that Arma is at already as a newer brand. Their 1/72 Hurricane kicks the shit out of the Airfix 1/48 Hurricane for engineering, detail and quality.

That looks like a classy kit brother. I have seen this built up, Luftraum/72 build a spectacular Princess Elizabeth C version. Look forward to seeing what you do with it.

OOooooh fancy that, Will descending into the Gentleman's scale :D Apparently, the original intent was to supply paper/tape masks but a mix-up meant they had to go with the vinyl ones, other than that - lovely decals, and bonus stenciling for a second kit. (the only little downer on my pressing was a slipped mould line on the wheels)

I agree that many in-box reviews are not useful, however for those of us interested in historical information a good review that examines the kit’s historical accuracy can help to inform a purchasing decision. Great peek at what looks to be a nice kit!

Arma kits fit really well. It helps that the sprue gates are on flat surfaces usually, but the design is superb. Part way through their Wildcat and built the Hurricane ages ago, and impressed with both. If they just pantographed them up to 1/48 they would still be class leaders

Nice to see this. I made that Mustang some time ago, and I can said that it is great kit - hard to build by fact of many details, however result should be great. Fitting is very tight in some areas, and literally you need to use a bit pressure sometimes. For Your info - Arma Hobby will release Aircobra in nearest future - also in 1/72 scale, but I think, it can be even better kit. ;)

Will, I'm enjoying watching you enjoy the journey in to 1/72nd. I don't know if you're going to pick Howard's a/c or not, and of course his MoH action is well documented. He was an amazing man. One thing I only found out recently about him was that, as a ten year old boy, he and his father were kidnapped by Mongolian bandits and held hostage for ten weeks until they managed to escape and make it back to friendlies in China. What a guy! My kits had sink marks along the fuselage as well. Oh well, as you say, it is what it is. That's what filler and sandpaper are for, right?

Hello Wil, thanks for your look at this kit it's great. Those of us who were children in the 1960s in the UK grew up with 1/72 kits from Airfix. I still like them today as well as larger models. There's less work in a 1/72 kit and they are easier to store and display. BTW have you read the moulded inscription on the rudder pedals of Arma Hobby's P-51, you'll need a X10 magnifier or microscope to read it 😁.

the kit looks like a gamechanger, and I've ordered one. BUT, I see a massive flaw (which a half-experienced modeller should be able to navigate): the sprue gate for the scoop opening is huge. This will require some delicate removal and cleanup. I'm quite surprised, given the thought gone into the rest of this kit.

Interesting to see how the Techmod decals work for you. I found them to be difficult. They suck immediately down to the surface and hard to move. Any attempt at moving mine resulted in rips. I hope you have a better experience.

Modern Techmod decals should not cause any problems. True, the older ones were less perfect, but for some years they use improved technology. Anytime it is good to use a lot of water/solvent under the decals, so they move, and when they are on the spot, just gently squeeze the liquid from them. It works!

I don't think any Japanese captured a P-51D but a P-51C. The substitute pilot flew into the wrong airport. "Evalina" was it's name..Those must be South Korean insignia , the "S" is lacking.
@grzegorzmazurowski7593

It is "Evalina" in the Arma Hobby kit, with options for both US and Japanese markings.
