I’m not part of the LGBTQ2 🏳️🌈 community and I am Christian but.... I am not offended or bothered by Bob not believing in religion because to each his own. Suum cuique. We should respect everyone’s feelings and opinions. He’s not hurting any by not subscribing to religion and.... I can understand why he doesn’t. Keep the up the good work Bob and Monét! You both are hella funny ❤️

Bob, don't confuse the bible with religion. The bible is a book that is more important in some sects of Christianity than others. I think think Catholic bible wasn't even printed in english until 1967.

I think maybe if you frame religion as a social institution of power (which it is) and say you're anti-that it's fair. Emphasizing the presence of a spirituality without having to root it in an organized religion makes it easier to like reconcile with ethnic and cultural identities that are soooo invested in spirituality (particularly black, diasporic, indigenous populations)

YASSS MONET SPEAK UP FOR UU WERK MAMA, so uu is all about love that's the best way to describe it. People of all religions go... I agree with BTDQ about religion but I'm very spiritual.. UU is a mix of all religions, including atheism.. basically just smart people in discussion.. we study all spiritual texts with skepticism essentially

Kenya Fleming Right on. The reason a lot of hatred exists towards gays from religious people is because a lot of religious people are in the closet and jealous/mad that they are living a lie.

You can preach the Bible and still support homosexuality actually, since most of the Bible is translated wrong and the verse that says "man shall not lie with man" was actually supposed to say "man shall not lie with BOY", it's actually condemning pedophilia.

But what are your sources? I don't mean to come off rude, it's just that I've never heard anyone say that about the bible before, so I'm just curious as to where you're getting this info?

This is absolutely not true. You may not agree with what the bible says, you may question it but you can not attach your own random interpretations onto the bible. There are plenty of apps/online resources that give you the hebrew/greek translations of scripture so that you know exactly what they are saying.

DaMarkis Brown yeah but despite his odd analogy I believe kind of what he’s saying. The person who wrote the Bible was Moses who’s a human man, god himself did not write it meaning it was essentially translated and interpreted the moment it was written. But religion is different for everyone so ...

This was a very interesting podcast to listen to. Also being a blk boy from the south who was raised in the church, Ive always struggled with my sexuality because while I've always had an attraction to the same sex (i mean, I have home videos of me when I was younger and you could CLEARLY tell lol) but my faith has always seemed to take precedence for me. I've always questioned everything and been very into history. So when I started digging deeper and seeing that many ancient philosophers, poets, kings etc (outside of the bible/christianity) spoke of Jesus and Christians, even if they were only mocking them. So to see that Jesus was an actual person and that people willing died for what he preached certainly solidified that there was truth there. It definitely is a confusing thing to process.

Look into the history of how homosexuality got added to the Bible in modern times. The ancient texts condemned pedophilia, not homosexuality, and it remained that way until the 1940s. Hopefully you can find history that helps you reconcile the way God made you and your love for Him. He would not condemn you, for you are fearfully and wonderfully made, and He makes no mistakes. Homosexuality also exists in hundreds of other species, and I doubt God would repeat that decision all throughout His design just to condemn it and call it an abomination for you to embrace yourself. Best wishes to you
