1:56 You can feel the spirit Eric puts in here by the way he jumps in with that solo. Almost like he declares his presence with them sturdy notes.

Holy smokes, what a performance. All these recent releases are great, but I never heard this song. So so so awesome. Need more music like this today.

0:31 Otis Rush is a genius for that C minor chord. Not that it's unusual but because of the feeling it brings on the table. Clapton makes it twice as better because of the way he played that. Then at 0:45 , he comes with his dashing vocals... Goddammit, that's passion at its best.

He used heavier gauges (10-46) to achieve the smoky fat blues tone he was looking for, which explains in some sort why his guitar sounded different. These changes cleverly marked the transition from modern high-gain Soldano SLO-100 to the late '50s tweed Fender amps - an all-time favorite setup since the second half of 1994.

For the 1991 blues shows Eric used an old Tweed Twin modified by Cesar Diaz. There were some changes in the band lineup: Chuck Leavell and Joey Spampinato replaced Johnnie Johnson and Richard Cousins. Buddy Guy and Robert Cray were joined by Jimmie Vaughan and Albert Collins. A newest addition was harp wizard Jerry Portnoy who followed Clapton on his blues world tours in 1994, 1995 and 1996.

This was Jimmie Vaughan’s first Live performance after his brother SRV was killed only 7 months or so before. Stevie himself was supposed to perform at this show also, had he not gotten on that damn helicopter 😪😪

Very very tasty.....but I sure wish he'd toggled off that neck pickup for part of that second solo. Some tonal dynamics would have been too cool. Oh well.
