Thank you Jeff and Matty for the great conversation on legalising our devices in Australia and all over the world! I look forward to the day where it is legalised not only in Australia but throughout the entire world! Onwards and upwards from here for our sport and our industry 🙌

Signed the first day I saw this week's ago. I love electric skateboards and have become very passionate about the sport in the 6 months I've owned one. I love it so much I put a lot of my own money into buying new camera equipment and regularly post videos to try and help promote the product to my friends and followers. Great to see a a business in my home town in the Gold Coast kicking goals. Keep up the good work Evolve Skateboards!!!!

I live on the VIC/NSW border and got a $1400 fine for going under 15kmh on an unoccupied footpath on a onewheel. 4 months of riding safely past NSW police every day and the day the border opened a highway patrol cop decided he didn't like it. A fine that big is taking me 4 months to pay off. All because I was reducing traffic, reducing pollution, increasing safety, reducing the time to get through the police checkpoint for others and saving myself an hour on my 2km commute. 4 months of my disposable income.

Corban, in Oregon, US, technically esk8s cannot be on the sidewalk, must be in the bike path on the road. Ive never gotten tagged for riding on sidewalks and pathways, but you have to be vigilant of law enforcement. Granted ill only get a 250$ fine and no jail time, its just an inappropriate law set

Yep seems to be the case of what mood the highway patrol is in, also explains why Andrew Constance Transport minister for NSW don't want these legalised, when you are getting between $1000-$2000 a fine why would you give up that sort of revenue stream.

I'm a X military personnel discharged for medical issues, i spent the last 4 years thinking, I'm done! eboards have literally saved me mentally as I was told I won't get up stairs let alone ride decks again, I'm not young, but I will stand hand on heart that eboards, have saved me, more than the pills they try to shove down my throat. But I have to say seeing group rides, the gen pop just see hooligans, Australia are so behind the rest of the world it's beyond a joke, I grew up with bmx tracks, I think I seen one,in the last 30 years, I bet if you had to pay rego, they wouldn't have an issue, it would be revenue collection at its best, what's next, ban mums running with prams. yes some decks are overkill, but so are alot of cars, get the kids out of the bloody house, widen paths, whear all your kit, respect the public, group rides are great but don't help atm, trust me I live in an over 60 area, and the general consensus is there all hooligans, we need to approach this with a legal and responsible manner, look at cyclist stats

Great interview and i wish you all the best (i have signed the partition). But as a NSW resident i lose confidence everyday in getting these legalised. Transport minister Andrew Constance has a stance on these, as mentioned about him debating with you. He is 100% against anything electric, i'm afraid if we want to use our devices without the risk of getting heavily fined we are going to have to move to another state. NSW will be the last state to allow this and that will be because they were dragged kicking a screaming. It's very sad for democracy when you have thousands that want it legalised but we have one politician that is stopping it period, don't sound like democracy at all. What we need to do is show others that the Ministers views are silly, perhaps tv advertisment with stories from those that have gained from using these deivces inter cut with the Ministers biased views against them, we need to portray him as out of touch with the mainstream, only way you can get politicians to move.

Yeah I agree with you Jason, I too am in NSW & hearing the comments the other day from Andrew Constance was just shocking! Myself & family just went on a long weekend getaway to QLD to be able to OneWheel in peace & the public is so so accommodating & used to eVehicles, had the greatest time, seriously thinking of relocating north ...

And to think March 13th, we had a cop car mount the kerb with his car and block the whole footpath just to block us on the night ride and remind us they are illegal and to look it up. I felt like saying "I did and noticed parking on footpaths are illegal too" but didn't want to make the situation worse. this is the first time I've had a cop be an ass unlike the others who just want to make sure we're not doing anything bad or causing problems with pedestrians, which we weren't and slowed down to a crawl when a lot of people around but this was late night in bad streets with no people to be seen.

21:08 - I ride this path almost every day - realistically most of the time apart from 5pm there isn't a lot of foot traffic and it is quite a wide area. This also happens to be the only "safe" east-west link on the south side of Melbourne for commuting cyclists/electric, which is why it sees people riding quickly (Council really needs to build some better infrastructure in this area). If you use your common sense there doesn't need to be this kind of blanket rule. 10kph is actually too slow, at that speed joggers are going faster, it used to be 15kph, but if you actually ride these places most cyclists go about 20kph along there and slow down when it is busy, and I have never seen an accident (cyclist or electric) along there after riding that path every day for 4 years. Really if you are travelling at bicycle like speeds you should be going up to 35kph on roads in cycle paths, and probably 20kph in shared zones (where safe to do so). It would be really great to get the people putting down these rulings to actually commute these routes and see what a 10kph speed limit is actually like. It is actually dangerous to ride many roads below around 25kph, as you need to be travelling at similar speed to traffic, this increases your ability to be working with the flow of traffic and be seen as well, it is too easy to not see a cyclist or electric board that isn't travelling at traffic speeds

Well said Julian, exactly my thoughts! 10kph would be an absolute joke, it is called common sense...ride to your ability and slow down in congested areas, allow people the freedom instead of these ridiculous laws that stifle people and progress. Yes, you will always get the occasional wanker that will fly past people with little regard, be it push bike, skateboard or whatever, don't restrict freedom of choice like governments always do partly from the small amount of people that are reckless. And please, don't argue "it is for my safety" I'll be the judge of that.

I don't want the law changed to allow me to ride on the freeway, or race among pedestrians. I would like to be able to ride where bicycles can ride and at the speed that they are permitted or restricted to. That's all. I should not be a 67 old criminal.

Link a horn to the Dead Man Switch! It is only used to get you moving, and once you are over 5kph, the switch is useless. If the controller were setup so that once you are going the Dead Man Switch has its usage swapped over, you wouldnt have to reinvent anything. Someone else said to have a horn unit that plugs into the boards USB ports, if that all comes together, that would be awesome!

Link it to the Dead Man Switch. You only need to push it to get the board moving, so one you are at speed the button is useless. If they incorporated a 5kmh start for the horn, right when the dead man switch turns off, then we have the access to change the function of the button. I know the esc on my DIY ESK8 has a buzzer that can make a significant sound, but i have no way to trigger it unless i run the battery flat.

I just want to say one thing. Please think about whether to put the production line in China. I have been looking for ways to buy your products in Taiwan. As a result, a bunch of counterfeit products can already be found on the Chinese Dibao website. These products have a similar appearance to your products and a cheaper price than yours. They are hurting your profits. Please think about this~ Thank you!
