Great video. As you say in many positions there is something to be gained if you just look for it hard enough. Patience is a virtue. Thanks

Thank you! Yes, I 100 percent agree in that patience is a virtue. You can have a great mind for strategy and tactics, and still not have success in checkers without patience.

@Tony Maurice Yes, The Long-Hunt 1936 match was fantastic! Are there specific games you interested in from that match or Alfred Jordan's games?

Hi, for the first tactic with trapping he king. I was taught that the king can jump across the board. So after he captures the piece he can go diagonally where he wants.

Not in this game -- there are other checkers variants in which kings can fly. But kings can only move one square at a time in this game.

Where can I buy checkers book in south Africa Cape town
@azcheckers

I am unfamiliar with the local book sellers in Cape Town, but I do know you can find lots of books online. I recommend checking out Bob Newell's Checkers Maven, as several books can be found there: www.bobnewell.net/nucleus/

@@IamHamzaAthar Thank you for sharing, and great endgame play! You put your kings in a position to limit your opponent's mobility by backing the kings into a corner. Really well done -- and you did it with same number of pieces. Impressive!

In this variant of checkers, kings have never been able to fly. But they can in other variants of checkers played throughout the world!
