I liked the idea of having a quiz after watching the video! Well done Jessica, your efforts are much appreciated :) By the way, your speech pace is just fine. it's just a question of having a video speed controller if needed;)

Adorei este vídeo. Foi um dos seus melhores. Apresenta o português como é realmente falado em Portugal e adorei que fosse inteiramente em português.

Hello Jéssica. Because I think KZitem is an excellent source of learning materials for people learning languages (and lots of other things), I believe it is important that people providing these materials take special care with the accuracy of the information they provide. This video contains several serious spelling and grammatical errors that prevent its utility as a learning tool. I understand that everyone makes mistakes (nobody’s perfect), but the fact that you publish this video and let it stay published without alteration causes me some concern. These are not simple typos or matters of opinion. They are severe mistakes that should cause you to reevaluate your teaching method or your video production method. Here is a list of some of the mistakes, mostly taken from your subtitles: “subscreve ao canal” - The verb “subscrever” takes a direct object in Portuguese. So: “subscreve o canal”. “habituei-me a aquilo” - The preposition “a” is contracted with “aquilo”, so: “àquilo”. “tem haver com hábito” - The correct expression is “tem a ver” (this mistake would cause you to fail an elementary Portuguese exam). “algo que tu te habituas-te a fazer” - “Habituaste.” This one as well. “Os portugueses estão habituados a jantar tarde. Pois não?” - “Pois não” and “não é” aren’t equivalent. You can only use “pois não?” to ask for someone’s agreement after a negative sentence. Like: “Os portugueses NÃO estão habituados a jantar tarde, pois não?” All the best.

Hi Carlos. Thank you for your feedback! I just saw it this week, since I was on vacation which explains why it took me a while to get back to you. I appreciate the special and very detailed attention you dedicated to give me such a useful perspective. And I would like to address that you do not need to worry about the resources I will produce in the future, I learn from my mistakes, and almost everything you mentioned were typos in the dual subtitles. You are right that these mistakes are very basic, thus easy to prevent, however with the current workload that I have and all my responsibilities sometimes fatigue and tiredness takes over and unfortunately these situations happen. This is not an excuse but rather a realistic reason why these honest mistakes were done. Meanwhile, as you can check, I have edited the video the best way I could and added the KZitem subtitles so that students have access to the latest edited version. Your comment allowed me to realise that my pos-production and editing system had serious flaws and therefore it needed to be fully updated, and for that I want to thank you once again. PS: Since the majority of your concerns were addressed I'm inclined to draw down your comment because it wouldn't make sense considering the current video. However, there’s also something beautiful about keeping a record that mistakes make us human and we should aim to own them. If you are a teacher, which seems like it, you know very well how relevant is to help students to have a healthier relationships with mistakes, address them and prevent freezing due to shame, fear or perfectionism.
