the meaning of the song : it's autobiographical, she says she carries her traumas with her (she lost her father when she was 13, he was a famous Italian singer who died of a heart attack at one of her concerts) but the pain makes it more great joys. You have to accept both good and bad days and fight boredom understood as suffering by always remaining active, so the cumbia dance of noia (boredom) is like an invitation to a party, you must always look for something that makes you feel good and not remain passive to depress you.

I get your point. But the fact is that the composition is still credible on its complexity, in my opinion. It reminded me of Noah as well, because she's an explosive woman with an energetic song, but the authenticity here is present, it's not gymnastic, for sure it's not about visuals. Angelina has the power of the music…

Agreed, that seems to work at Eurovision though? I’m thinking of last year’s winner

tattoo comes together better in my opinion. the production is also big but to me it sounds a lot more balanced. I get the comparison though and tbf I would not be surprised if this entry does very well, even if I don’t love it personally

I see your point. I like the song because of the same reason your dislike it, but I have to admit that, yes, it's a bit too much. I think the average music fan won't be able to perceive all the subtleties you noticed, it takes some music knowledge to catch them all. ;)

true! I am approaching this as a music nerd which I realise is a minority position amongst eurovision viewers haha

@@user-ps3vw7rq7b as I do not speak italian and had to translate this I might be missing some nuance, but still: why would I not appreciate a song suggestion? I did not watch sanremo and would be happy to check out some more from her. I am looking at these songs largely from a compositional and instrumental standpoint with very little regard for lyrics as that is just not my area. it’s not that I “did not understand” the song, it’s that I have issues with the production that keep me from fully enjoying it. I know from experience from music in languages I do speak fluently (english and dutch) that even a great set of lyrics will never actually improve a song for me if I did not love it purely from an instrumental standpoint. as for the other reactions you’ve seen being positive: that’s fine! people can have differing opinions and I think I approach this from a much more music critic-like standpoint than other youtubers do. if you did not want to hear my honest opinion and just wanted yours validated, why did you click on the video?

I’m only reacting to the studio song! the video is only used for illustrative purposes. these are purely song reviews-I’ll get to the live performances come may

Singing without the aid of instruments is defined as "a cappella singing". That you don't like it is respectable but if you had a minimum of musical knowledge, leaving aside your personal taste, you would know that few can afford the luxury of singing without music and Angelina Mango can afford this luxury ;)

I studied music for ten years and am a trained pianist. I know very well what a cappella means ;) she has a great vocal which I think I highlighted in the video, but that does not take away my issues with the production. you are allowed to like the song obviously but trying to blame my mixed opinion on it on some lack of knowledge is such an obvious bad faith argument

@@lyramsr I don't doubt that you know music and are a good pianist, but singing is a different thing. So attributing bad faith to me when you yourself called his singing "without music" not good in the context of the song what is it? We should most likely be talking about your personal taste, not mine.

@@user-nq8nr1lt1p it’s a review. music reviews are reflections of one’s personal taste. there is no such thing as objectivity in music criticism. besides, I think I made my point clear in the video: my issue is not with her singing (which I praised, because she is a great singer). my issue is with the placement of the a cappella section in the song and the way it is juxtaposed with the otherwise very busy production. the way the music suddenly drops out feels jarring to me, not climactic. sure, a cappella vocals are not something every singer can pull off, but that is not relevant to the point I’m making. I’m assuming you watch sanremo? I’m actually reminded of an entry a few years ago-“la genesi del tuo colore” by irama. (I did not watch the contest myself but heard that song on a podcast and fell in love with it immediately.) whilst not strictly a cappella as his voice is still backed by a vocoded version of itself, that song also contains a few sections where the instrumentation drops out entirely. those in my opinion work extremely well, in large part because the production builds to them. in contrast, in this song, I get the impression the producer just pressed the mute button with little advance consideration. that says nothing about angelina’s vocal talent or her ability to perform a cappella. of course this is just how I feel-you clearly have a different opinion and that is fine! surely that is the point of a music review, to showcase how you feel about something and why?
