Radiohead are reminding me of experimental Icelandic stuff like Múm and Sigur Ros. There's an Icelandic folk music thing where there's beautiful harmonies interspersed with intentional discordant notes, and its hauntingly beautiful. Been hearing it in Radiohead today and loving it. Wow I just put that in a reply, so I copied it here too. Never really listened to Radiohead properly, before today, and I'm pretty blown away to be honest. It's like discovering a new band, I'm excited!

This song is a masterpiece, and this shows in how good some of the covers are. TImelessly brilliant songs are ones that can be covered well and still sound good. Some times are surprisingly good when covered when it didn't do anything for me originally. This also tells me that timelessly good songs are something beyond the original, where it's drawn from something better than even the original somehow.
