diegopicker I love that. He did something similar at msg in ny on night 3 this past tour with “like spinning plates”. Thom forgot “I’m livin in cloud cuckoo land “ and just sang the “our bodies floating ...” part x2. Then he seamlessly added “I’m livin in cloud cuckoo land “ later in the song and it worked beautifully.

I think part of what makes Radiohead a great band to see live is because frequently each member seems to take on a certain emotionin their performances. Thom is like sorrow and perhaps angst. Jonny is like anger and frustration. Ed is like calmness and nonchalance. Colin is like shyness and the distancing of one's self. Phil is like seriousness and down-to-business. That's just the way I see it in some of their performances.

At like 3:00 they fuck up and lose the thread of the song - Jonny's scratching his head - and they have to find an alternative route to the emotional crescendo of the middle third of the work... and jonny just punishes the home stretch! Ed's unsure look at 3:44 was hilarious indeed. Also that and maybe a couple other things give away that Thom had forgotten the lyrics or skipped them or whatever and that it was not "planned." Maybe Thom had done that at a previous performance like someone pointed out but he probably also sang "We are accidents waiting to happen" 4 times like he did here. Thom's ending was great, though. :D
