Thanks for all of the great info. Literally Yamaha doesn’t even have any decent photos of the new engine on their website- so “thank you” to you and Greg for giving us a close-up look at the new engine and taking the time to explain everything and the differences you guys noticed. The black GP SVHO looks pretty sharp. Do you guys know if the paint process has been improved at all?

Yamaha lost me 2 years ago with their absolute dismissal of legitimate customer concerns. Namely the trip meter resetting every time you stop the ski, the fuel gauge sensor reading it’s low despite 25l left in the tank and the promotion of accessories that you simply cannot buy in Australia. I was a Yamaha loyalist for 20+ years but they lost me when they didn’t want to offer any solutions. I just went and bought 2 x 300HP outboards from their competitor because of this. I don’t have faith in their back up service.

I believe there will be new Skis from Yamaha in 2025. Seeing the FX series hasn’t been redesigned since after 2018. This is the 4th year of the newer GP. And they are bringing an all new 1900 SVHO ENGINE. Yeah, there should be new/remodeled bikes coming out 2025.

@@watercraftjournal Hey Kevin, there seems to be a debate on one of our forums about rod bearings. Here is a quote from one of the posts. "NO mention of what yamaha replaced the rod bearings with ... that they have gotten rid of lead ... people think this is a small thing but its not" Any way you can confirm that is true and if so why and is it even important? This is not my argument, but wanted to see if you have any info on this that I could share with the group. thank you.

I'm looking at upgrading to a new ski. I've had a 2015 kawi stx15f for a few years and love it. However, looking for something with a little more kick for myself and a little bit better when it comes to having a passenger. Mine is a bit unstable when a second rider gets involved (part inexperienced second rider). i was looking at possibly a new ultra 310x, or i was thinking of a GP ho / svho. I am still keeping my options open with the new seedoo lineup on sunday. I'm just looking for a bit of a nudge. Kinda torn on the options.

The trip resetting everytime the ski is shut off is such a big deal to a lot of people along with the fuel alarm. How hard is a software update? I can't believe Yamaha isn't going to fix this to satisfy its customers who dumped 20k on these skis.

Technology on a ski Is stupid. Just more shit to break that Jack's up the price on the msrp and repair costs. Just like greg said it's stupid and he doesn't care about it. You can't expect computer controlled options without its fair share of issues. I say strip them all down like the 90s skis. Easy to work on amd a hell of alot cheaper

All you do is push a button and the alarm turns off for fuel, really not a big deal, or is it?
@jeffbryner5355

@wko78ms it is for the picky people who revolve around technology lol. Idk why you need all that stuff anyways. Wtf do most people need a Garmin nav screen on a jetski lol. Hell my superjet has a pet cock and that's it. Most people who purchase those do not ride in the ocean and that would be the only place I could see that you need one. I live in the mid west there is no ocean for hundreds of miles. Why do people like me need all that bs to raise the price? I make them all like the standups spark or ex and u can add that dumb crap to it if you want. I don't need a cadillac escalade on the water 🤣
@jamesj8309
Жыл бұрын
@@wko78ms yep but you can’t press it while driving. So you have to stop. Once you stop the fuel equals out in the tank and sensor thinks it’s not empty so the alarm turns off. So you drive again and guess what the low fuel alarm goes off. So you play a fun game of trying to beat the buzzer. But it’s a game you never win cos there is still SO much fuel left in the tank.

The colors for 90% the past two years have been atrocious. They cannot make up their mind. It's a poor mix of retro bright, race inspired, and beachy vibes. Go all in one one of them and then rotate. The '21's were 85-90% money on the colors. the VX HO's this year WOOOOOOOOOF!!!!!
